im a big fan of plaguecrafter and windgraces judgment as they hit all my opponents in some way. also no mention of aerial extortionist? constant temporary removal and draws you cards in the process.

Targetted removal is good. But other cards that affect players and dont remove are severely underated. Sometimes youll face something like an aristocrats deck and having removal aint gonna do anything. So heres a few i mean. Dress down. Flash enchantment. All abilities are gone for one turn and you draw. You can stop combos, stop an ender, potentially stop certain effects like death touch. Sudden Spoiling. Same thing. but its split second. Cant do anything except mana abilities. The opponents board also become 0/2. Removal is good. Counter spells are cool. But theres other stuff people should look at.

Showing this to my friends. Hopefully they can learn the better commander way of running more removal.

I think targeted removal is a lot less important than 1 sided board wipes. Cyclonic rift gets hate because it takes no effort to make amazing. But there are lots of strategies that have board wipes that wipe out your opponents and leave your board. Running tef pro effects turn other people’s board wipes into one sided wipes in your favor.

My Zaxara deck can only have cards with alliterative names (including lands), so very light on removal

I see you are also a Talrand player. I personally run him with a bunch of cantrips and my finishers are Candlekeep Inspiration, Alandra and Octavia. I try and keep a low number of counterspells, because that's the better commander way.

Aura Shards is bonkers. If it sticks your opponents don't have artifacts or enchantments.... EVER. It does tend to be fairly salt inducing... akin to Gravepact effects in sacrifice decks. That said, if you want to play it more casually, it IS a 'May' effect. Simply remove the problematic stuff while ignoring things like mana rocks and the more mundane effects.
