I am a veteran logger the biggest I got to use was a tiger cat 6 wheeler and yes bigger is better in most logging situations now a days but started out on the small line skidders , yes having space ( big cabs ) defiantly makes the job easier happy trails everyone!
Nice to run the big toys ! As a small guy I’ll probably never have something like that , given the payments and the fuel prices equal gold bars these days , something needs to give !
Waht a beast.Max pull around 80000? Was sad to see Bobby Goodson need to make such a hard decision.Hope the area your logging is good and your business never needs to make such a hard choice.
Always wanted to see a video of that machine from the inside. I think the 8 wheel Timberpro with a grapple saw on the boom and a dual arch on back would be about the ultimate large volume long haul machine. Or even a clam bunk on back, but I think those are probably best suited to absolutely flat ground.
Good morning Pete. You look good driving that thing. Don't know if you missed it last night but Bobby Goodson was live on RU-vid. He has shut down and is putting everything up for sale.
Sweet machine brother!! Are you going Richmond VA this weekend coming for the show! The company I work for is going to be there with a couple processor's there on display...
That's nice when your working on flat level open ground an how much wood can you pull with it on a drag? Heck what you pulled your first trip I could have done with the 648L John deer. Seems like a waste of money unless you gonna pull more wood than that each trip out. Just my opinion
That's a nice machine with our economy the way it is today we have to utilize our older machinery try to keep it going longer than having to buy a new because it's just not available in any aspect
That is one big machine. The one I have seen that is bigger was one used by the German forestry service, I was a tracked vehicle and towed a log trailer. I was sight to see.
That it could it’s a little rough on fuel but damn does it make up for it and how much you can drag I’d be curious to see what it would do on steeper ground
You learned the stop the rattling with a glove trick from David Haley. I hope that thing has good AC. The trade off for good visibility is the greenhouse effect.
If you can cut big timber and do an good job at might be interested, I'm not doughting anyone but I've heard alot of guys say they knew how to cut timber, then yeah everyone knows the rest. And this is big timber, we're not cutting anything under 30 inches on the stump and that the smaller size, this timber looks like the quality of timber you'd find in Indiana.
