@@ralteh3390 They were not. Jihyo would never date one of her costars, especially back then she was adamant against dating a celebrity. And was not into younger men. (Chen Bolin might of changed her thoughts, but even then she apologised for letting him feel the gap early on/acted older). She said she's even had feelings for Gary before but didn't date due to the show. Also, if they had dated they would of been awkward in the episodes when he returned. E.g. football ep, he touched her cheeks because she came from the cold. And again when they hugged when he left army. She only sees him as a brother.

They need to do so, bcoz at that time jihyo received so much hate from joong ki fans.. So in the end, to avoid any rumors between both of them, she just accept the loveline from Gary and that's just for business.. And she doesn't have real interest in Gary and they just play their role in this show until it became the talk of the town and memorable monday couple..
