This Luo version of Higher Ground (Lord Lift Me Up) hymn is one of the most widely sang worship songs during Luo church service. I grew up listening to this song at family gatherings, funerals, and services.
It is a total acceptance of God's power over our lives. Apart from being a prayer that most of us share at this trying time, it was also a great joy for me to arrange it.
May the hymn not only entertain you but also bring you closer to God through all your storms and peace. May He always meet your needs according to His will.
The orchestra parts were created by my gifted friend Joe Mutoria and additional strings played the Redfourth Contemporary Orchestra.
You can listen to the English and Swahili versions too. Available on Itunes and other music streaming sites
You can also buy the audios and support Redfourth Chorus. Each audio goes for Ksh.80 payable via Mpesa till 673054 and/or call +254723218135 to have the mp3 versions sent to you.
