Great videos! Training at RUPES is amazing. The staff and people behind them are simply the best. Their facility is great. Looking forward to going back. Well done!
I’m really excited about your Rupes training because at some point in the near future I hope you’ll share what you learned at this academy. And if I’ve learned anything since I discovered your channel, it is this: you are a very good teacher. Your reviews are so very well done. Very comprehensive.
Good for you bro! Knowledge is king and obtaining that knowledge from the creator trump's all other gleaned info, no matter the source! Looks and sounds like it was time and money well spent - especially regarding your whole new view on sanding. I'm always nervous when sanding- sand a little, check the depth with the gauge, over and over. Just curious, what did the whole trip cost you including course fees, hotel, airfare, etc? I'm thinking about attending this course but have to weigh the costs. Thanks!
Thanks man, yeah it was awesome, learned a ton and made some good contacts too. Sanding can be scary, but like polishing, start at the least aggressive and it’s much safer that way. Using the right tools and mixing your edges goes a long way too. The class was $750, they do offer deals on local hotels, but they were all booked, we stayed in boulder and I think it was about $133/night, and the air fare was around $350 from Philly to Denver when we bought the tickets. We went for 5 days so obviously the cost would be different if you just go for the 2 days.
@@TurnerMobileDetailing Thanks, Seth. That's good info. We used to live in Denver and still have friends there. We could probably t ourselves invited to stay with the and save $$. Were you able to do any touristy stuff? The Colors brewery tour is excellent. Boulder is a cool old west town to explore. $750 is pretty steep for a 3 day course especially when you don't get any products or equipment. Most of the courses offered by other mfrs are 3 day and you come away with products and hardware of some kind. It will be cool to see you incorporate your newly honed skills into your videos. Speaking of videos, if you could do one on touchup paint and filling chips that would be great. Keep doing what you do bro. I really enjoy your content and the way you present it. One last question... How are you liking your Blue Clean machine,?
@@stevemclean5787 We hung around Boulder some, Pearl street I believe. We also took a day to do some hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, beautiful! That’s where I took the clip of the chipmunk eating his seeds, he just sat there on a rock along the trail and let people get pretty close, he was pretty funny! The course was actually 2 days. There is a 3 day course, but the 2 day one is $750 for early booking. We did get to take home pads and polishes that we used during the class, but unfortunately no machines lol. I guess your paying for, not just the training, but the opportunity to get your foot in the door of rupes and make some good contacts, which I think I did, so I’m happy with the experience and they even told us to market the crap out of the fact we attended the course if we’re business owners. Plus they teach you ways to integrate different paint correction into your business and be more efficient, thus becoming more profitable. So to me it was worth it for the residual benefits.
@@stevemclean5787 I like the Blue Clean, it has some electrical issues depending on the home I’m working at. If it doesn’t like the circuit, the motor doesn’t want to turn over. I have to play with the attached GFI to get it to turn over. But that’s it. I’m trying to get feedback from ARBC on the issue. But I’ll be doing a video or two on it about the end of the summer.
We actually discussed that with the instructors. The reason they haven’t yet is because balance and ergonomics of their machines is paramount to them. Battery polishers tend to be very unbalanced and uncomfortable to use over long use periods. I can attest because my dewalt battery DA is kind of awkward and un balanced to use over a whole car, especially on horizontal panels. So I’m pretty sure rupes has something in the works, but they won’t release it until it’s perfectly engineered. They are releasing a battery version of the 3” mini this year at SEMA. I got to use it and it’s very different ergonomically from the corded version. You can see it on rupesusa.com if you want to check it out. But as far as a 15mm DA, I’m pretty sure one is in the works, and it’ll be like nothing we’ve ever seen before, and probably cost a million dollars to boot lol!
