We were living in a rural part of Thailand in Phichit but eventually moved to Phitsanulok. We are on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by rice fields, but close to the city for shopping and food. Best of both worlds.
@@mywaychannel1 we just need a change we live in amnatcharoen getting western food and other things is a headache we will rent the farm out and the house plus I want my daughter to go to a better school
Visited rural area of East Thailand, made so welcome by locals, who invited me into their homes and included me in village events. I'm applying for retirement visa, already retired, cant wait to make the move permanent .
I did a similar ride around the farmland in my area in my early videos. Need to take my motorbike out to make some more trip videos. Thanks for sharing!
I spent 3 months living in a small village in Yangtalat. It nearly drove me crazy. The daily chores consisted of feeding the fish. Cutting grass for the Buffalo. Building a fence. Ran the water pipes to the house and installed a new kitchen. Other than my Thai girlfriend and another guy from Belgium, no one spoke english in the entire village. Noisey Motor bikes used to roar past all hours of the night doing their Ya Ba runs to the nearby villages, even in the torrential rain. The roosters start crowing at 3am. The Mozzies prefer farang blood over Thai. I got attacked by ants, i used to take a big stick with me on the motorbike as i had be defend myself from the Soi dogs attacking me. The only excitement i had was going to the local market on Friday evening to get supplies and going to the local rooster fights. I couldn't wait to get out of the place, I was loosing my sanity. I have since been back. But i have stayed no longer than a week. You can keep your rural Thailand in Isaan, you need to be a special person.
Great video. How do you access helathcare? Please do a video about background why you moved, what your story is I.e. Where you moved from. Future goals in Thailand.
Thanks. I don't access healthcare much at all. The local hospital in Chom Thong is good or we have many options in Chiang Mai which is only about a 1 hour drive from our home. For more info about moving here please check out this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d17mMwxgOYM.html There's other videos with more background story on our channel also. To learn more of our future here ... please keep watching my new videos :)
I spend 6 months a year in my wife’s village in rural Thailand , Problem, only my wife speaks English, We built a nice house , but 6 months is enough for me, Peter
The Thai countryside is beautiful and I enjoy it in small doses but could never live out there. I get bored to tears after about a week. Hua Hin is more my speed. But if you want a quiet life the countryside is a good option if you know the language and/or have a Thai partner from the area.
Thanks! We don't often get many mosquitos. The first months we lived here we slept under nets, but have not bothered to use them since because they are not necessary.
Not great at this time of the year, but generally not as bad as it is in Chiang Mai. Here we get wind from the mountain that funnels down the valleys and clears the air nicely.
@@LifestyleNorthernThailand oh you have a homestay makes more sense now. I may have to come out some day for a night to check out the area! I did the Doi Inthanon bike race before but I sadly never thought to explore the area near the mountains. A hidden gem I think!. I recently bought some land in Samoeng and I'll be doing a house build once I get it planned out more. What did your builder charge per square meter and would they come to Samoeng do you think (I assume they are based in CM)? I like the finished concrete look too and you gave them a great review.
