Although I love them all, I'd have to say this is my favourite song off the whole album. So diverse, and the 3/4 timing works perfectly for an epic like this.
@@marcdemell5976 If you’re referring to 2112 and Hemispheres, those are not concept albums because side 2 of those albums have nothing to do with the storyline of their epic title tracks.

Clockwork angels spread their arms and sing, synchronized and graceful, they move like living things...without Chronos there would be no music. The Clockwork Angels have started time with sound, and without music what is the point of the beginning of time?

I thought this band had split in the late 90s. When a co worker told me in 2012 that they were playing london, we got tickets. This music beats their output going back to Signals in my opinion. Love from wessexshire 🇨🇳😎
Can someone tell me where the text from the beginning of the song is from? I know its from the song and this is on a lot of RUSH songs but is it just supposed to be like an excerpt from a story or what?
Dmania1000 I believe it is Neil Peart, as the author, giving some background to the song. I haven't physically owned too many conceptual albums that tell a story like this, but I know Pete Townshend put a bit of background on the sleeve of the "Tommy" album before each song to further the story and give it a bit more context. I think if they put all of that stuff in the songs the album would be several hours long, and not many people have the patience to listen to that. I'm assuming the text at the beginning is taken off of the sleeve of the "Clockwork Angels" album in a "Tommy"-like fashion. Hope this helped! :)
The Clockwork Angels are, if I remember correctly, used by the Watchmaker to not-too-indirectly give instructions in the form of riddles ("lean not upon your own understanding,") to his people.

At 1:25 it should be *against* not "againt". And I believe at 1:27 it should be *Clockwork Angels* with a capitol "a" since that's the name of the song and album. And (one more correction so sorry) I think the line "Goddess of mystery. Is incorrect. I don't know what it should be but it doesn't sound like he's singing that line. Sorry! I had to correct you.
