“Spirit of Radio” is their other hallmark song …..i recommend the drawn animated version done by a fan ….it kind of goes through the a Rush timeline and history of the song …it’s well done
I recommend they react to the live version of "Spirit Of Radio" in Toronto in 2003 in front of 500,000 fans on a sunny August afternoon. It's such an incredible performance!
Thanks for the reaction. Interesting song to pick for an intro to Rush, so nice choice. Sure someone has already said but this is their first album with Neil, but this is their 2nd album. Also, they started the move to progressive rock on this album, when they recorded By Tor and the Snowdog, also on this album. 😊 There are too many favorite songs. Like you, there was a time when Tom Sawyer just annoyed me, back when i was anti Rush, but i had a friend reintroduce me to them and Tom Sawyer is still overplayed, but the musicianship in that song is phenomenal and they all compliment one another perfectly. Not to mention the lyrics are as badass as Tom Sawyer himself! Huge fan following, lol Favorite Rush song? Right now, it's Natural Science or Leave That Thing Alone. If you do the latter, pick live performance from R40 tour. It's pretty tight but they always are.

This is pretty cool stuff 👍 for rush early 🎵 music but their better music you really should check out is Tom Sawyer 🐱 and maybe Spirit of Radio Both are cool songs that gives you idea who rush is later

There is a live performance of Working Man that is phenomenal. Really shows their musicianship and how tight they were as a band.Working Man Live In Cleveland I believe is the name of the vid.
Xanadu from Exit Stage Left is pretty mind blowing and Working Man Live in Cleveland is also impressive. Some of my favorites? Limelight, Freewill, Natural Science, Farewell to Kings, Working Them Angles, Ghost Rider, YYZ....Live in Rio for the last three. The list is long and I could go on, but I won't. Take care ✌

I was 8 years old when Fly By Night came out, and every time I hear it takes me back to a much simpler time. If you want to see more of Alex's greatness, I recommend "Limelight" and "Red Barchetta," both also from Exit Stage Left.

That's a standard rock song, but it's only in later albums where you really see Rush evolve and mature. "The Spirit of Radio" is a classic and a wonderful example of listenable progressive music. "YYZ" Live in Rio, Working Man Live in Cleveland, both worth a watch.

This is very early Rush, during their incipient years. You can readily tell that they had great, masterclass musical chops, and there was even more greatness to come! Check out the videos/songs called 'Tom Sawyer', 'Limelight', 'The Big Money', 'Subdivisions', 'The Trees', or 'Xanadu'.
As a Rush fanatic for 42 years, this is one of the top five songs that define the Rush sound. I never get tired of this tune. Neil's lyrics are about himself and his sojourn to England that didn't work out. Thank God!

I noticed on your reaction to "When Doves Cry" by Prince that the young lady wanted to be hit up by more like that. Prince and MJ were compared a lot in the late 70's and 80's. As a fan of both, IMO Prince was the better performer. He played every instrument on his debut album. While there are numerous songs to react to, his earlier stuff was the best. He also wrote numerous hits for other artists. Controversy, Head, The Beautiful Ones, Erotic City, I Wanna Be Your Lover, U Got The Look, Purple Rain, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, Diamonds and Pearls, and 1999 are a few you can start with.
The Fly by night album was Neil Pearts first album with Rush. This was a jaw dropping release as to his virtuoso playing and his lyrics. You should react to 2112, the album that brought Rush to the world stage. Rip Neil
Greta van fleet? That’s your generation. This is where all the great music all started. I’am not knocking your generation. I wouldn’t want to do that. I try an accept all that’s new in music. Too be honest. Music in this day and age is long gone, and dead.
I brought my son up on all the great music of my era. I think all you great young kids are cool, that you even take the time to give a listen to music that my generation grew up with. God bless you.

Rush are one of the best bands of all time. Three master musicians. What makes them really great is that they are complex and still very accessible as their songs are very catchy.
Not a big fan of Rush, but probably only because I was more into MJ & Bee Gees when I was growing up. My hopeful songs for you to react to would be: MJ - 'Heal The World' and 'Remember The Time' Bee Gees - 'Too Much Heaven' and 'How Deep Is Your Love' Thanks 👍🏽⭐⭐⭐
