Musicians though are in a particular spot of being able to sell art to the masses with a special freedom of expression. There may be the look of artistic character, of noble intention, but often it's easier for a group to create some false profundity, fake depth if you will. Selling out in their eyes seems to be compromising one's morals for something fleeting like money.

It sums a lot of stars up, not all but many.

You give radio companies too much credit for thinking they listen to the lyrics for anything other than obscenities.

It is more about how corrupt the entire music biz is.

Its not about corruption...Its a love song to radio.. with a realistic view of how commercial it is at the same time.. Neil's thoughts on it was as he was growing up and it always had the perfect music to fit his mood.

I've had it 40 years. It is highly communicable.

Gary Torborg Saw Rush perform this at Dallas’ Cotton Bowl Stadium in August of ‘79.

It was my introduction to the band. To prog rock in general, thinking on it. Was so different from everything else on the radio. And this song broke them to a wider audience like me.

@David Hargreaves UK often had a different schedule I definitely first heard this at the very start of 1980, and went out and bought 6 of their albums at once.
