@4:05 "All I know is that memory can be too much to carry" - such an incredibly meaningful lyric from Neil.

This song deserves so much more credit than it gets.

probably why I bought the CD instead of "ripping" MPs like most people do, if that is, you mean monatary credits!

Seriously, their best album since....since.....Signals. That means I rate this higher than Power Windows? WOW!!! (Might have to rethink that one). Point is? BUY THIS ALBUM AND SUPPORT THE GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER!!!

darke812 Yeah, this is easily their greatest album. With peaceful songs like Wish Them Well, The Garden (oh Jesus Christ the Garden!) and this one (kinda) and then you have hard rock like BU2B and The Anarchist. You get everything in Clockwork Angels! But I did like Power Windows, especially Mystic Rhythms

That the best description of a select few of us who have so much combined power thunder influence and a strong disdain for the status quo but the knowledge life experiences to use the broken system against itself to create an much improved environment to innovate positive changes impact that we all can accomplish together

Just got the album for Christmas. I think it's almost as good, if not as good, as their 70's stuff!

the tell-tale signs of Rush's game over is "Clockwork Angels" being the title of this album. I get it. Probably they have been telling their life's story since "Moving Pictures" in 1981. Too Bad Neil is not still with them. I recall this Album was made in 2012. I made certain to go out and buy the thing as soon as I heard. I bought it at Best Buy!

This song strikes me as Neil learning of his cancer ? i could be completely wrong but at the time this song was probably written his life was going so well. married. new child. happy. and we all know he battled his cancer in secret for a very long time.

Don't think so, his diagnosis was after the R40 tour. He lived 3+ years after diagnosis when he was given only a year or so by the docs.

Neil got the idea of this song from the book The Wreckers by Iain Lawrence, from what I can tell. (It may have come from others as well, but I only know of The Wreckers)
@lorne510

it was actually from a book called Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier according to songfacts

wowitzrachelolz So perhaps you shouldn't post false things and make yourself look like a fool. Neil doesn't steal anything. He gets inspiration from his reading and writing. The man is a fucking genius.

Wow you really blew it on the lyrics. Just because you have all the words on screen doesn’t mean they are in the right order.
