Of all the Rush songs, having this one tabbed out offers a glimpse into a more transparent and functional arrangement for voice + synth + bass playing from Geddy, it is clear how each part allows for that multi-instrumental transition, anbd space for more complex passages of one while the other recedes.
In case you ever feel like your bass playing isn't up to snuff...remember that Geddy Lee also sang the song while playing this bass line. That should make you feel even worse! :)
Man I am noticing so much of the shapes of this bass line is same as Californication. I don't know too much about theory but you can really tell Flea was really influenced by Geddy Lee or they had some common influences. The voicings and the scales? they are using in these two songs are really similar. Rush rules.
