My favourite Rush LP besides 2112! I was lucky enough to catch both legs of that tour.Ottawa,ont and then Montreal the next summer ,I did not even know their was a second leg til well after the Ottawa show .They were TIGHT both times ! Halleluyah!We may meet in the Resurrection ? Maybe?
Sad to know that I will never be going to another Rush concert again. There is so much meaning and many messages in Rush's lyrics. Rest in peace Mr Neil Peart.
Lyrics are decent, the entire song that geddy put together around it is generic trash, just like most everything off this album and clockwork angels. Huge rush fan but they were not good in their later years. I know thats hard for diehard fans to admit, but this shit is not what any of us like rush for.
Always best way to get over a lesson learned, when one has been too kind to too many people, who are NOT like minded. WISH THEM WELL - Neil Peart (RIP) .. always seemed to sum up the human emotions so well. I now use the "wish them well" message - and feel refreshed and can concentrate my emotions on worthy people. Sometimes we learn the lesson late. AND a Churchill Quote thrown in - "When you're going thru' hell just keep going....." Towards end of WWII - Churchill used to motivate Brits.... Neil Peart knew his stuff....
This reminds me of my dad. "Thank your lucky stars you're not like they. Turn around and walk away." Had to pretty much cut the old bastard out of my life. This song helps me through it when I miss him.
This may be hard to believe, but one day you will probably miss them. Something you shared will trigger your hearts memory; as we grow up and our understanding mature's things that enrage and anger you won't seem as important. It is hard to wish someone well who really hurt you, it takes a lot of strength of character. Even if you fight with someone and threaten and sa terrlble things, try not to add injury to insult - we can apologize for or harsh words, but physical damage sometimes can't be undone.
I feel ya. I guess family isn't always what were told. It's what we live through. This Song definitely is a great song to remind me just forgive and move on.

Neil taking on the "angels" who decide to play it safe with their musical tastes and not want to be challenged. You will hear them roar their approval for the same old music as usual. When Clockwork Angels came out, the phrase "Where Angels Fear To Tread, Fools Rush In" became pertinent. This quote from Alexander Pope is similar to "Nature Abhors a Vacuum." What comes to mind is a group like Rush finding the opportunity to fill a void. To fulfill their fans expectations of original music in the new albums coming out. So the way I can see the term "fool" I mean it in an IRONIC sense. Not in the original sense of the word but in some colloquial sense, as in a self deprecatory manner that was practiced by the Band members decades ago. Even Geddy sings "Fool that I was" in the song HALO EFFECT. So, if all this enthusiasm in Rush's music makes me a fool, then so be it! Like Billy Joel once sang: "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints, the sinners are so much fun."
In other words, I want to adopt that quote by Alexander Pope, but some fans might see it the wrong way. Has anyone in music journalism used that term before? Also AP famous for "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." Plus Clockwork Angels bringing to mind the "musical cultural landscape" in 2112. but the audience for it never emerges.
This song is awful. For as great as rush once was, late 70s-mid 80s, they were equally as terrible later on. This is just absolute generic nonsense that no one needed to hear out of rush. I remember tai shan and high water from hyf and at the time thinking they were rush’s first legit bad songs. That was the very beginning of the weakening of this band. And this album and clockwork are filled with crap like that. Forcing albums out for the paycheck or just to please fans doesnt usually yield great results. Success is the death of the artist. Hungry artists always do their best work.
@@harlowpinson5678 i dont mind the lyrics. The song itself sucks. The generic chords and melodies. Theres nothing special about it. Forgettable throwaway song for me. They have other songs where i like the music but the lyrics stink, such as dog years.
