Russ inspired me to make the songs that I want to make and produce all my own beats and never give up. He showed me anything is possible. I will blow up soon! 🚀
Yeah I been peeping game from him. Once my destiny folds imma try the independent way. I can’t let these labels slave me n take nearly the whole cut out your royalties. The slower the grind, the better the reward ✊🏾
If “Keeping it 100 “ were a person . It would be Russ. Russ is the Gary Vee of the Music Industry !!!! 👐🏻👐🏻👐🏻 #KnowledgeIsPower #givingback2thegame #RussNation
That's why he is hated. He tells it how it is. People like us to have no filter and tells the truth are very hated people don't like to be called on their shit.
“The more fucked up shit i go through, the better music i make, the more fans i get. As much as i want peace of mind, i feel like my music will be trash if i had peace of mind” YOOOO THAT’S FREAKIN’ DEEP!! This man really is a LEGEND 🤍 love u russ!
Russ music is soul healing. It’s the music you turn to when in the moment of wanting to escape this world. To reach a healing message within yourself. Russ will play a part of who I will become✨
I still remember *Act Now.* I blast that song whenever I need a little mood boost to grind and work and focus on myself. and I know everyone here doing the same 🔥
Can you check me out too bro? Im just trynna do similar things. i Self produced my 10 minute EP, if you could just check out one song from it, I think you'd like it
@@kelsopresley that’s not going to work you telling strangers who don’t know you to check out your stuff you haven’t even given them value yet they’re literally your cold audience you can’t tell a cold audience what to do they ain’t going to do nothing you tell them to do check Dorian group 82 he can teach you some stuff how to market yourself without making it look like spam you can make it you just need a brand and found out what you want to give to the people that’s valuable you have 3 e’s Education , entertainment, exotica figure out which one your good at and stick with it
@@alien-hs1zn I appreciate bro. I know who Dorian is, his music is terrible and he got over a million plays due to playlisting.. Every audience is cold bro. Honestly, i think you shouldnt listen to him too much... Theres too many ways to do this. That 3-E shit is the same reason Dorian is most recognized for Education instead of his music, he'll have to figure out a way to shake his audience off of his videos, and put them onto his music.
Nix Weldon I can definitely relate..I dropped 3 productions last year and man! Mixing 50+ tracks wasn’t no joke..My ears are getting better tho so I’m excited for this year.
@@dghiyyugr word its not easy, gotta save up for the equipment too, but at the same time work with what you have. Been using presets to record rough to see if theory can meet results.. then i start changing it to suit the track. still a long way to go
Russ inspired every song I’ve made this year. 2020 was rough, battling depression and Anxiety, but I know 2021 will be my year in music. Hopefully I can work with Russ soon.
Russ is easily one of, if not THE realest in the music industry. I won't even front, I definitely shed a tear when he spoke about his mom. That shit resonated
The Kobe and nipsey line and the “I can buy my mom a Bentley but I can’t buy my mom pieces of her heart back” that was real no cap. The entire interview was powerful ! Excited for 21
@@thatimokoena8357 I listened to the audio book and it was incredibly worth it, even if you're not the biggest fan you can definitely learn a lot and his life is pretty interesting. Also I'd reccomend the audio book because it's a more authentic feel to listen to his voice talk about his life, and each chapter is a song title and you get to hear a little bit of the song at each chapter.
@@thatimokoena8357 The book is just ok if im being honest. But it does emphasize what he said in his interviews. But yea it ok. like a 7/10. It was nice kinda reading his thoughts though
Russ is honestly an inspiration for many people. I’m very proud how far he has become! I started hearing him in 2015. From then to now, shittt he should be so proud! 🧡
As a rapper and a independent person in general this was the best Russ interview I've seen so far. I believe the key to success lies in the lock in which your trying to open. The bigger the lock the bigger problems can be expected to come with it. With greatness and success inevitably comes failure. It's what accumulates the appreciation needed to enjoy the better times in life. Don't ever forget the lows, but don't ever let them define who you are.
Every time I watch an interview of Russ i constantly need to listen to what he says bc all he does is speak facts and every day he keeps getting better and better
“I can give my mom a Bentley, I can’t give her pieces of her heart back” damn man that one hit hard. Russ is just a real dude like cut the man some slack, we’re all human.
These 2 hr interviews need to happen at the end of every year. I've always been a fan but this interview was an amazing summary of his career this year and with the backstory of what's happening behind the scenes. I appreciate every story and details he has shared here. Russ is literally a walking genius creating his own legacy. I can't wait for this pandemic to end so that the world really sees how hard he's going to go and blow up. Thank you B.Dot for being so smooth and detailed in your questions you're always an amazing music journalist 🎯🙏🏼 And THANK YOU RUSS for letting the world know that a person can have whatever the fuck they want in the world at the end of the day family and friends is all we got. The respect and love you have for your mother inspires so many to get their shit together. damn inspiring 🙏🏼.
"I'm pretty sure the apocalypse was because of me" I would be mad but it's Russ, I can't get mad at someone who's music has carried me through this pandemic without snapping. Thank you Russ 🥰🖤
Russ is my biggest inspiration, he is the one who made me put out my beats 3 months ago, and soon I will put out my singles thanks to him and his book. I will get big just to work with him!!!
At 8:00 mins I felt that, he really like that. When I sent him the beat for “Old Days” he was done like that night. Shit crazy, can’t wait to get a plaque with bro.
this interview made me go back and listen to chomp again, and i appreciate the songs more. you can tell he was hungry and wanted to hold his own. i think he did just that
It’s literally my absolute dream to meet Russ he literally is the best person in hip hop so humble seems like a amazing guy and dude has a amazing work ethic love you Russ keep making absolute bangers like you always be thanks for making my life better
Russ vibes is just different, speaking from his soul and his experiences relating to anyone that’s been in similar. Long time fan and I’m not surprised Psycho Pt. 2 is still top
Dude I feel all of his songs so deep & I appreciate hearing an artist, especially a man, create music that can do that. He gives us women songs that we can totally vibe with on so many different levels. It’s genuine. I could listen to him speak for two more hours because he’s so fn real & intelligent.
My first favorite since my childhood is and will always be Nipsey, RIP to Tha Great🙏, but Russ comes right after him. For his hard work and dedication to the rap game, his flows and his style and his raps, and how he sings on his tracks. It's what I love about the guy, he's just an overall cool genuinely good dude. Mad respects to Russ
TMC for ever. 🏁🏁🏁 #AllMoneyInNoMoneyOut #LongLiveNipHussle. I mess with Russ now. At first I didn't. No particular reason but the brooklyn freestyle mad me a fan than he dropped chomp so it's a rap. I am a fan of his rapping though. Not singing.
Appreciate all the great support everyone is giving Russ he definitely deserves it dude has worked very hard for what he has today and will do so much more while influencing so many talented musicians in the years to come.
I appreciate that the interviewer lets Russ talk. It's so frustrating when they're so excited to talk that they forget that the audience is tuning in to hear THE ARTIST.
My guy is dropping sooo much gold in this. Russ, if you’re reading this: thank you so so much for being transparent and telling it EXACTLY how it is. I appreciate it more than words can describe and will do my best to apply all this game to my own life, music or not. Thank you.
I love when he said them numbers don't matter but what does is having fans who relate to the message. Really made me feel good as a true fan. He notices us.
YOU DONT NEED A GRAMMY, but I hope you get one bro. You deserve it all. Work hard, but make sure you play and kick your feet up. PLEASE. Don't burn yourself out trying to one-up yourself, you're the legend already.
Russ is an inspiration to artists that understand what he’s talking about, always giving out free game, gotta keep going. Shake the snow globe was 🔥🔥 that new Chomp EP goes crazy too. It’s a inside job!
I just learned about you, and I’m so mad it took this long. You are the proof that I needed that what I’m doing is the right thing to do and the right way to go about it. Thank you for talking about your journey in all of these interviews. It helps those of us that are willing to put in the work. I appreciate you.
Man. I first found out about Russ through the song Therapy Music. After that, I watched this interview last year; which led me to listen to Chomps 1 & 2. A week and a half ago when I was listening to Chomp 2.5, I decided to listen to his whole catalogue. I pretty much binged all of his mixtapes in a day. It was a mind-numbing, yet eye-opening experience noticing his growth throughout the process of putting out these songs. The next day, I listened to his albums from There's Really a Wolf to Shake the Snowglobe. By this point, I started to understand the frustration from Russ about his perception. A lot of people acted like he was some cocky, arrogant kid that just popped up out of nowhere and "blew up overnight". The truth was that he's been grinding for years up until that point and he had a crazy chip on his shoulder on account of him being young and everybody doubting him but not seeing the results I see. After listening to those albums, I went back to this interview. Now I feel like I have a better understanding of Russ after streaming his entire catalogue from the beginning. He has grown so much sonically, mentally and spiritually in the 10+ years since he started. He deserves WAY more respect as a human being than what he has been given by the media.
im here RUSS im here from canada HONOR NIPSEY BY being a boss I FELT THAT HONOR KOBE BRYANT by going hard everyday I FELT THAT watching this loud and clear ready to soak in the knowledge and FVCK up the game no lie i got a WHOLE CATALOGUE dont sleep on me
Damn I’m discovering Russ songs I haven’t heard yet thanks to this interview and now I’m extra excited to listen to. And even the songs I already know I’m excited to go back and listen to again after getting context from this interview.
I love you Russ, been around since soundcloud. You’ve gotten me through so much shit man, it’s not even funny. I just saw you in concert a week ago in my home town of Delhi which you were visiting for the first time, and man, you made me feel every emotion while you were on there. Thank you man. Thank you.
We’re so lucky to have Russ man, the people and knowledge you drop is priceless. Shoutout to B dot too man, this an amazing interview. Beautiful background too.
