From July 2017 At once brilliant and wild, Russell Brand regales Larry with stories of fatherhood, opens up about battling addiction, and offers his incisive take on politics in this fascinating interview. n/a
I love watching Russell Brand grow as a human being. He is so honest and genuine in his exploration of life, religion, philosophy, history. I hope, Russell you search and search until you find it. It is so worth it!!
the guy was so exploited as a young fella and he wasn't all that nice himself as is to be expected with his addictive personality people who pour scorn on him must miss the honesty that has been a constant for Russ since forever - as you said Trina, he wants to grow and is always doing his best, can't knock that, its refreshing and I used to find him grating as all hell (when he started hosting Big Brother)
@@jamescraigp I found it. Christ. Right in front of me the whole time, sometimes one doesn't want the answer, one must exhaust everything else first. Most never find it because they don't want it. Too proud. Running is not searching.
@@jamescraigp ... I think the point is to find it! And ... how wonderful when you do. You will know it. Hope you find it ... for it is not too far off from each of us ... ♡.
this is one of the most candid interviews with Russel around his addiction. Usually he jokes lightly about it, but he's so comfortable with Larry that he unpeels form his usually playfulness and really touches the nerve. Damn thank you for such an honest interview.
His interview with Megyn Kelly is better , because she seems more genuinely interested in his life view & philosophy & had obviously read his book about addiction ( 'Recovery' ) in detail. Larry King doesn't have warmth or rapport to me, with anyone he interviews . A cold fish is the vibe I get.
I love watching Russel Brand's constant search for a meaningful life. Remembering his talk show appearances of the past where he was always that amazingly quick-thinking, hilarious extrovert and maybe the most charming narcissist ever existed. But look at him today.
The depth in this man and his ability to communicate and share with all of us is so appreciated. I love listening to this intelligent, fascinating man. Thank you Russell
Seeing the smile slowly bloom on Russel's face as he was speaking about finding happiness in the present was brilliant. I could not contain a smile of my own. It's wonderful sharing this appreciation with the both of you. I hope you are well
oh well scratch what i said, he works hard intellectually to grow and learn, but he should do his freaking homework if he is supposed to be working hard the way he should. cmon russell, buckle down and do your homework and be as good as you can be.
I never really liked Larry King - I found him not terribly intelligent and rather abrasive and not the best listener (or hearer) - but Russell was so magnanimous and so patient and so eager to connect that he was able to transcend King's limitations and get his message across so beautifully! (even when King insulted him by implying he had taken drugs before coming to his home). Russell was able to put the offense aside and reestablish connection in a way that few people could...
Russell is a very complex and interesting person for many generations and backgrounds. I'm no kid, but there is something so real about him. He bares it all. Any time. Any place
Jesus! I love this man’s brain! Sometimes it hurts my head when I try to force my poor old brain to consider one of his perspectives, or understand one of his comments, but I always end up being more awed by him than confused by him. I truly believe If everyone could set aside any personal animosity they might have towards him or and take time to SERIOUSLY listen to what he has to say, they could very well be shocked at the impact his ideas and beliefs on their own perceptions. I understand that it might be difficult to set aside other the younger, public Russell Brand from the new and improved Russell, but you really need to work on doing that. I promise, he will make it worth your while! Personally, every time he appears in a Larry king interview, I’m surprised Larry’s head doesn’t explode.
I saw the debate between Russel Brand and Jordan Peterson. I have to say anyone who can hang in an intellectual conversation with Peterson is a very smart cookie. I have a lot of respect for Russell, which is something I can't say about a lot of celebrities. A great interview.
russell brand is the only person i know who has the ability to convey spirituality in a down to earth way. there is no esoteric nonsense or religion going on. he makes it so easy to accept that there is more than just the material world and that it isn't anything frightening, it's just normal. he is honest and centered and very intelligent. it's unique.
There was some point in the last few years where Russell has changed for the better(in my opinion). He's a much more competent interviewee. He seems to talk from a place of calmness while still being able to maintain his giddy wit. I may be wrong but you can definitely see a change from previous interviews the years before.
Absolutely. I love watching his pod casts now too - he speaks with calm wisdom and on some topics he has given great advice offering a new perspective (eg he did a video on the pain of unrequited love and helped me reframe my desperate agony at the time)
I have been watching RB for years now love this man loves his character. It’s so important your reputation is what people think of you but your character is who you are
I had a crush with him, I saw him in my yoga class, I didn’t know who he was. Then I found out that he is Russel Brand!!!!!!!!!!! And I fell in love with a beautiful human being. Thank you.
After having read his autobiography 'Wooky Book', I am impressed Russel's growth as a person when you compare him to his more opportunistic, narcissistic, self-destructive self in his youth. I really admire his sense of authenticity now
Well that was very enjoyable. I just stumbled upon it and decided to watch since I'm a huge RB fan. As always I am left with nothing but love and respect for the man. Well done to the staff at the LK show. Excellent.
@@danzoil possible but if you look close he has wrinkles on his forehead it moves when he talks. They just wear tons of make up on tv that plus the heair makes Russel younger. No make up or hair color in the world helps Larry anymore :)
24:41 I liked him for his take on addiction, but I fell in love with this dude for his reason to study religions in global politics.
I think he HAS taken over the world. Watching this 2 years later, and Russell Brand has become a voice of reason amongst the insanity!!! P.S. RIP Larry King. You are missed.
16:40 - Larry knows everyone. Russell is nearly catatonic when Larry says 'Lynda Carter, I know her well'
Russell Brand is very intelligent and underrated as an intellectual. I am captivated by him. Yes, Space O, I agree. I could listen to this man talk for hours.
It also had another more edgier title, more of a pun or play on words n for the life of me I can't remember?! I actually liked it at the time but I spose he dropped it so the information in the book would be taken more srsly.
I was drawn to drugs through curiosity, and absolutely loved them! They wouldn’t be so popular if they didn’t make you feel good, but sadly the mentally unstable or crime committed by the few give them a bad name. We will never hear on the news: five thousands people attended a concert, took ecstasy, had a great time and went home!
Pain, it’s ours because we have earned it. It cannot be taken, given away or lost.. but it can be understood. Waking with this fire inside and relinquishing the notion to fight or flee, focus is realized. Something greater than our simple manifestations defines purpose, birthing the driven magnetar within the soul!
