It's how he intimidates. He's high energy, quite brash, pompous, yet pretty funny and can throw in some self deprecating humour as part of his charm. Doing all that while physically enclosing your space, is intimidation. Most women just don't know what to do because it seems to be overwhelming when all of that is in your face, and he'll keep you laughing while it's happening. He's certainly got it down to a T. He's pretty slimy imo but fair play if he's flirting with a single woman who is happy with it or if it's appropriate.

He’s not actually that close to them, it just appears that way due to body language and his angular appearance. If you imagine another person occupying the same space as you watch you realise he’s not that close.

Look at her body language at 3:06, at first she was backing away but now she is closing in on him, she is facing him and paying attention, and she is relaxed. If I had to analyse this I would say that Pink is indeed visibly backing away from Russell's sexual energy but ends up the conversation feeling more comfortable with him because Russell kept her laughing and entertained the whole time and because of his charisma. The guy was a force of nature, and he still is

Watching the body language you see she's very uncomfortable and cringing, thinking what he's going to say next. Her legs are crossed away from him and she leans back with hands cupped to ward him off. Meanwhile he's leaning forward ino her space talking in a leacherous manner. She though is so cool knowing how to remain professional and to hold face whilst still being in control.
