I was 24 in my first true love. I adored this girl, wanted a life forever with her. I was even willing to give up the South, and move way up to the coldest North. One day I was obviously sad and she noticed and asked me whats wrong baby? and I told her.. My family had lived on that farm for 6 generations and I would miss it. She said if it bothers you so much why don't you stay. Those words cut me like a knife. I used to mourn the loss of that relationship, but I came home and I'm so glad. It's simple here and most don't understand, but there is a beauty in it that can't be expressed, only understood by those who know.
@@RussellDTV so true Russell, god has totally gotten ahold of mine. I just had two encounters with him, it was real and incredible, as a person with disabilities for years it was hard for me I believed a lot of lies due to the fact that I was bullied, as we as emotionally and verbally abused by a former coach, years later now, god basically reminded me that no matter what he wraps his arms around me tells me he lives me, calls me by name and tells me that iam a daughter of the king. Secondly Russ, thank you for what you did for Sarah, thank you for your heart your compassion and just being you. I'm glad that I came across you and I'm so JACKED man to call you my older brother. Sending a hug and smile your way
I think this song means . This song is one hundred percent true . He's trying to tell her in a love song . That she reminds him of where he grew up . It's a small town . Where there is no crime . Everybody is friendly that passes you by . It's a simple life . The way it used to be . Southern Symphony

Where I come from We wash up before supper You don't talk back to your mother Or you get your butt worn out Where I come from It's the same pew every Sunday And the preacher says there's a one way to Heaven And you can ask the good Lord now Yeah, something about you brings me back home Girl, your kiss is like a trip down some swept road It's the sound of a magnolia breeze Ice cubes in sweet tea Fight song on a Friday Bug zapper buzzin' in the driveway It ain't much, but it sounds so sweet A southern symphony To sing along, let it play on and on 'Cause where I come from, that's a love song Mm Where I come from The pot don't call the kettle We settle down, but we don't settle We take time to stop, just to feel the wind blow Where I come from We grow sweet corn and tobacco And everybody waves back at ya when you pass 'em Girl, you take me back to that road Like the sound of a magnolia breeze Ice cubes in sweet tea Fight song on a Friday Bug zapper buzzin' in the driveway It ain't much, but it sounds so sweet A southern symphony To sing along, let it play on and on 'Cause where I come from, that's a love song It's the sound of a magnolia breeze Ice cubes in sweet tea Fight song on a Friday Bug zapper buzzin' in the driveway It's the sound of Hymn 112 Stories my Grandpa tells Garth Brooks on a CD And Rocky Top on TV It ain't much, but it sounds so sweet A southern symphony Sing along, but we don't need a record on, no-no Just let it play on and on 'Cause where I come from that's a love song Where I come from that's a love song

128 views. A little after midnight. And there's heavy rain. That's right. I'm going to look back at this in awe... Btw I just got out of jail 12 days ago.
I hate my life even more after watching this video. I want that life!!! Growing up in the USA would have been so awesome. Living in a normal family, being normal, all that would be amazing.
This song will be amazing for yall northerners to live in the south. It really speaks the truth! Edit: This song just surpassed all my favorites. Good job Russell Dickerso n
Told you we were raised in parallel universes. Like brother and sister. Just like that for me. Not perfect but it was a Heaven South. Guess that is why you are my Heaven South. ❤️🎵🤠😘🎸

Does anyone know the kinda sad pop song that sounds like the guitar in the beginning? Kinda slow and soft whispers by whoever is singing? It reminds me of Coldplay or passenger but I can’t thing of the song.
RUSSELL DICKERSON (2020) - SOUTHERN MELODY (Traducción en español) Where I come from De donde vengo We wash up before supper Nos lavamos antes de la cena You don’t talk back to your mother No le replicas a tu madre Or you’ll get your butt worn out O te pondrá el culo como un tomate Where I come from De donde vengo It’s the same pew every Sunday Es el mismo banco en la iglesia cada domingo And the preacher says there’s a one way to Heaven Y el predicador dice que hay un sólo camino al Cielo And you can ask the good Lord now Y ya puedes pedirle al buen Señor Yeah something about you brings me back home Sí algo en ti me trae de vuelta a casa Girl your kiss is like a trip down Sunswept Road Nena tu beso es como un viaje por Sunswept Road It’s a sound Es un sonido Of a magnolia breeze De la magnolia en la brisa Ice cubes in sweet tea Cubitos de hielo en té dulce Fight song on a Friday La canción de tu equipo el viernes Bug zapper buzzin’ in the driveway El antimosquitos zumbando en el camino de entrada a casa It ain't much but it sounds so sweet No es mucho pero suena tan dulce A southern symphony Una sinfonía sureña To sing along, let it play on and on Para cantar con ella, que siga sonando una y otra vez Cause where I come from Porque de donde vengo That’s a love song Ésa es una canción de amor Where I come from De donde vengo The pot don’t call the kettle Al pote no se le llama tetera We settle down but we don’t settle Echamos raíces pero no nos acomodamos We take time to stop just to feel the wind blow Nos tomamos tiempo para parar tan sólo para sentir el viento soplar Where I come from De donde vengo We grow sweet corn and tobacco Cultivamos maíz dulce y tabaco And everybody waves back atcha when you pass ‘em Y todo el mundo te devuelve el saludo cuando pasas junto a ellos Girl you take me back to that road Nena me llevas de vuelta a esa ruta It’s a sound Es un sonido Of a magnolia breeze De la magnolia en la brisa Ice cubes in sweet tea Cubitos de hielo en té dulce Bug zapper buzzin’ in the driveway El antimosquitos zumbando en el camino de entrada a casa It ain't much but it sounds so sweet No es mucho pero suena tan dulce A southern symphony Una sinfonía sureña To sing along, let it play on and on Para cantar con ella, que siga sonando una y otra vez Cause where I come from that’s a love song Porque de donde yo vengo ésa es una canción de amor It’s a sound Es un sonido Of a magnolia breeze De la magnolia en la brisa Ice cubes in sweet tea Cubitos de hielo en té dulce Fight song on a Friday La canción de tu equipo el viernes Bug zapper buzzin’ in the driveway El antimosquitos zumbando en el camino de entrada a casa It’s the sound of Hymn 112 Es el sonido del himno 112 Stories my Grandpa tells Historias que cuenta mi abuelo Garth Brooks on a CD and Rocky Top on TV Garth Brooks en un CD y Rocky Top en la tele It ain't much but it sounds so sweet No es mucho pero suena tan dulce A southern symphony Una sinfonía sureña Sing along but we don’t need a record on, no no Cantamos con ella pero no necesitamos un disco, no no Just let it play on and on Sólo que suene una y otra vez Cause where I come from that’s a love song Porque de donde yo vengo es una canción de amor Where I come from that’s a love song De donde vengo ésa es una canción de amor

When I hear this song, I can only think of how my fellow northerners are ignorant of Southern culture. Especially with their interpretation of the Confederate flag.
