I discovered this working college radio in the early 1980's... and it remained in the back of my mind all these years. Recently I tracked down a CD version of the original recording, and since it's not on RU-vid I put together this video to share

Beautifully played. Beautifully sung. Beautiful arrangement that lets Mr. Hooker's piano and Mr. Russell's vocal blend. Sometimes less is more.

This one of the top 5 most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I have been an Aces fan since the beginning. I saw you guys at a place called The Apple in Jackson,TN in the mid 70's, best show I was ever at.

Brother I know you had a time with Russell and he was just one of those once in a lifetime kinda person and I'm proud to finally see where you made a comment and I'm just lucky I ran across these comments I am blessed . Mr . James Hooker , my name James Clayton and I tell you that because one of the best things that ever happened to me personally was to see these guys live in a very small bar in Spartanburg S.C. and got to enjoy conversation with the remaining members that where there and I only want to say one more thing. Thank you so very much for the upload and I hope to see more of them, peace be with everyone during these troubling times !!!

The “lady” in the video is an ex-girlfriend who taught me a lot about what a relationship shouldn’t be. I was never “the guy” and she would unintentionally (or internationally) sabotage things to keep the door open for “him” to come back around. “The next time I’m going know when love is true” sums it all up
