While Russ was in OKC I cooked for him and his family during the Finals. Russ, Dad, mother and brother all very kind people. He called me personally at the restaurant (Flint) every home game to keep the restaurant open. The staff would gather around the phone, and wait to see who I asked to stay!!. The first time his pops tipped me like 600.00. Love Russ Good luck in L.A. get that Chip.
@@slurpslurpslurpslurpslurps4613 nah I think he’s good on the stats. He got his awards and in the history books. Now he will do whatever is necessary to win a ship
Russ got that underrated comedic timing. When he's being interviewed by someone who isn't annoying the hell out of him, his charisma really shines through. Makes sense all his teammates talk glowingly about him.
Based on my knowledge of his "added immediate family members, he has twin girls whom he adores. I saw a picture of the twin: HEAVENLY! His smiles are that of contentment... the kind most of us desire it. I am happy, when those whom I cherish are also happy.
@Mitchell BENNETT well either the nets or lakers going to win it so get used to it the bucks and suns only got to the finals cause lakers and nets weren’t healthy
Mr. Westbrook; Thank you for raising the level of play in DC while you were there, been a Bullet/Wiz fan for over fifty-plus years, and the last time I saw that type of intensity is when we won our only title, four plus decades ago. We got a nice haul in the trade ( Kuzma, KCP, & Harrell) and that gives a chance to have a good year in the DMV, again thank you Russ.
@@lukatunjic670 Hey man almost every Wizards fan loves Russ trust me I actually live in the DMV and he’s treasure. A lot of fans thought that we hated Russ because we were pretty upset when John was traded because we had waited years to see him play again so it was natural for us to be a bit upset. That doesn’t change that we all love Russ and wish him the best. Most understand that the media stretched the hell out of that story with Brad too lol.
@@Kingsareboss he had a chance to show he could be the 3rd scorer and every role in between, all the way to down to just rebounding and defending this year but he was inconsistent consistently no matter the role he had. He'll look good at times though but don't get your hopes up
Thanks for watching and for your feedback, I will advise you to get a good life by investing especially on stock market and crypto currency, I will refer you to my trade analyst and financial guru to assist you make good profits
MVP is a individual award NOT a team award.. I rooted him for years.. I was a Lakers fan since a child. Until Oklahoma got a professional team. I still root for them but have to represent our team. Especially since we never had one until the Thunder. !! I'm telling you he IS NOT a team player..!!.! They should've got Heild from Kings instead..!! 2's and ball hogging doesn't win Championships..!! 3's and assists and team ball/sharing does !!. In this video he's talking about record's for triple doubles. Lakers will not win if he's making triple doubles.! Watch and learn young man .!!
Actually, I feel sorry for him. Seems like a good enough guy. But unless he completely changes his game, he's not going to help LA much. Maybe to give James and Davis rest during the regular season. God help LA if he is their 1st option on offense for the playoffs. And if he's taking all the shots, he will deserve all the hate coming his way.
@@stevenlopez1255 Haters!! 😂 Lmao I supported him for a decade at OKC!!.. I'm a Boomer born and bred right here in good ol Oklahoma!! Hater's lol I know his game to a T.!!..
@@jonhlopez5955 That also What KD with the Warriors Outside of that KD can't Win a Chip Also joined the nets to Win more chips Easy Way Out for Him has Well. 1. LAKERS LAKERS LAKERS 2. Bucks 3. 76ers 4. Nuggets 5. Mavs flippers& nets Won't Win Jack True LAKER & RAIDER Fan Since 79 Not lebum Bisexual Fan
@@josephbowen5640 I agree with KD. James didn't get a ring until he joined Miami. I know it's the "new" thing but these rings don't hold the value as others. U said since 79 lol so I know u probably rather see super stars vs super stars not joining. Shows lack of competitiveness. Not a fan of the Nets but if they're healthy, I think they take .
@@jonhlopez5955 but unlike KD joining the Warriors, Miami was knocked out of the first round in the playoffs the previous season, so we can't compare LeBron joining the Heat and making it a championship contender to KD making the warriors an indomitable team that was already a championship team. Just saying
I believed in him when he was here in OKC, but he couldn't get it done!! With the team that is there in will be a lot easier. I've been a Lakers fan my whole life I hate to say it but they should've went a different direction and got Buddy Heild instead..!! 3's instead of 2's is the difference in the game.. See he is already talking triple doubles and that mentality is 1 thing that what will make the Lakers lose..!! He isn't a team player. You will see..!!
@@waynelpop1 May is the key word, but since he left OKC it hasn't happened..!! His style of play is great if it was the 90's.! He won't change unfortunately. In time you will see. If he could've when Durant was still there we would've won at least 1 championship.! Remember this post later and I don't care about " I told you so!!" It's about winning the championships..
I think he's always happy and we just don't see it. These players live good, fun lives surrounded by family and friends. We only see them while competing or being angry after losses. Like he said, that's not the real him off court.
efficiency. Also effectiveness in recent playoffs. and this is coming from a russ stan. looking forward to the start of the season. looking forward to him getting a ring
People can’t handle the intensity because they don’t possess the same passion for their craft like he does, bottom line. What he brings to the game is far more valuable than what the numbers say.
@@chrispettis1486 ah yeah I forgot about this. I actually commend him for going for that self expression. he doesn't let others stop him from being himself (even on the court)
I watched this mans whole career I’m a laker fan 4 life but since 2011 those dunks got me hooked on that mad playing style he has, very great competitor. Its freaking awesome to have him in the lake show I have his thunder jersey and now laker jersey. When everyone hated him I was always on his side great to have him here 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I am not so sure that they need that much chemistry. I mean, if they always have a rested LeBron or Westbrook on the court, they can dominate the ball, distribute and destroy the opposing teams in so many different ways. Depending on match-ups, AD, LeBron, Westbrook or Melo might have the ball more. Chances are that one of them will have a very favorable match-up...
I love this guy! I came here after watching some interviews hilarious but this side of Russel is just amazing. He is someone I can look up to for inspiration and motivation (jokes also).
I was at Equinox in Los Angeles working out in 2013 and Russ was there with an OKC trainer working out. I could not stop staring at him because he seemed small on TV compared to the other NBA players but he was gigantic in person and his workouts were so intense. He obviously caught on and paused in the middle to say hello and we exchanged a few words. He seemed like a very humble and nice guy then.
In that purple and gold uniform. It’s called a lakers jersey. You don’t even know he’s gonna play for the lakers? You think it’s called Los Angeles purple and gold?
I'm amazed at how different he looks since he became a Lakers... Now here's always smiling, and so nice in his interviews. I used to watch his past interviews when he buries the reporters with his answers...
@@Maxmillianr1 Russ was wearing a *KILT < worn by men of VALOR* .. (know your history) Westbrook was representing NEW YORK's "fashion week" in the BIG APPLE.
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ Shout out to Lil Russ. Good seeing you again at the District on Sunday. Welcome back home soldier ! *LET'S GET IT !* 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
When he's done he's gonna be more appreciated because he will be remembered by his stats, not by his game. Just like with Karl Malone or Wilt Chamberlain. Russ has a tremendous talent but it seems he hasn't fully internalized the fact that basketball is a team sport and the goal is to make the team win, not to accumulate stats by grabbing uncontested rebounds from his teammates and jacking up ill advised threes from the logo. And on defense the goal is to get a stop, not necessarily to get a steal. As long as he plays that way, he needs to be the main guy and you can't win with him as your main guy. The only way it works in LA is if Lebron relegates him to a supporting role and he accepts that. So, either he's an allstar or they win.
Yeah but the first 20 games or so the haters are going to be out saying how right they were about Russ. 😂 Tired of those fools lol. Takes about 20 for new teams to figure it out.
😂😂😂😂 Funny. I guess you're hoping Kyrie won't take the vaccine. If he doesn't, Lakers have a 90% chance of winning the title. If Kyrie takes it, that 90% goes down to 10%. Nobody is beating a fully healthy Nets in the playoffs.
When Westbrook was with our Rockets he hated that Harden was lazy on defense. He wanted the Rockets to bring it every night with energy and passion. Harden just didn’t have that mentality..
This is why I want the Lakers to win this Championship he's happy to be home and I'm happy that he's home cuz I miss La everyday that's passion he Sean for his City and we will forever love our city
The character and attitude of this man is truly inspiring. 💯 They say you can learn allot from an individual just from the words they speak. Wishing nothing but continued success for this man!
One thing I love about Russ. He always play hard no matter the circumstances are. He is always on top gear even if his teammates doesn't believe in the team. He never asked for a preferred destination. Just like Dame, they are humbled on how fortunate they are to be in the NBA.
@@Eb-dw3tq In every world in every solar system in every galaxy. If he isn't sniveling to reporters about being disrespected after being left off an all-star team, he's posting eye-rolling Instagram messages about his undying loyalty in a player-mobile league. He doesn't shut up.
You don't have to be enrolled at the school to run pick-up games in the gym when you are a top high-school player who they want to recruit.... its not complicated
@Davit M so here's the thing bro.... You not liking Russ has nothing to do with my overall point. I've played pick up games at the Bulls practice facility in Deerfield yet I wasn't on the team or G league affiliate or even a pro or amateur hooper. You can play ball in an open gym without any connections to a program. The rest is all semantics
@@BlvdRo91 so here's the thing bro, Russ said he was going into his sophomore year at UCLA so he was obviously enrolled. listen to the man speak, it's not complicated.
I'm an OKC fan but Ive never stopped liking Russ. I didn't like young Russ as much as mature Russ but I was super excited for him to see he gets to play in L.A. I always said if he left the Thunder that's where I would wanna see him go. We are about to get the Russell Westbrook that solidifies his legacy in the later half of his Career. He's already a hall of famer, just needs some rings. Not to be a bandwagoner but if we disregard my undying loyalty to Thunder...I like the Lakers a LOT right now. Lots of great players but not just that...they are WHOLESOME players too! Im excited for NBA to return!
He's An Awesome Person,Very Down To Earth,Always Cares About Others Less Fortunate Than Him,Just a Great Person, and Very Talented In His Craft Basketball!!!
I'm a BIG SPURS fan, but Westbrook is one of my favorite players because of the way he approaches the game (every single game) & to heat him explain how & why the way he is, is gratifying. Nice (old' school Converse, Btw-👌🏽😜)
We are about to see the Real Russ... its gonna be epic. Playing for his hometown with a stacked team!!! Russ has at least one more MVP coming and 3 rings before he is done. I'll even throw in a Finals MVP for a bonus. Lebron is gonna know how to get the BEST out of him... Kobe and Shaq: The sequel! Bruhh....
