Jason Cavitt : If not for Kicker Blair Walsh missing four game-winning FG’s the team would have gone 13-3. Think about that. They could have had a first-round bye and home field throughout the playoffs. Every time that has occurred the team has gone to the Super Bowl. They still don’t have a home playoff loss over the past 7-8 seasons, do they?
@@DeCurtaRican fwiw, he only missed in 3, not 4: Washington (missed 3, lost by 3 points), Atlanta (missed game tying FG that would have sent it to OT), and Arizona (missed game winner) 12-4 would not have been enough to take the 1 seed over 13-3 Philadelphia. It wouldn't have been enough to get the 2 seed over 13-3 Minnesota either. It would have been enough to give them the division title and the 3 seed, however, which would mean that they would have had a rematch against Atlanta. While this is something interesting to think about, I don't think it would have mattered much. The defense was scraping by that year, especially after losing Sherm and Kam, and it showed. It showed in several games. The Titans game, the Jaguars game, the Houston game, definitely the second Rams game. The defense was struggling all year, and it was up to the offense to keep up, and that became a problem because the offense was asleep for the first half. In some games, like the Houston game, they were able to do that and win the game. Other games, like the Jaguars game or the Titans game, they fell just short because the defense couldn't get stops. And in games like the second Rams game, they fell apart entirely. So while they could have made the playoffs with a better kicker, they wouldn't have lasted long. They would have been lucky to win a playoff game at all.
@@Moparmaga-1 This ignorant babble disqualifies you from making any further comment on FOOTBALL!!! MORON! LOL. Doug Baldwin is SENSATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Playthellgb42c'mon man you must not live in Seattle it's a inside joke. Doug is my favorite receiver. Pedestrian was said back in 2013 by micheal crabtree about Doug and jermain kearse because of their unknown status & that's what started the whole thing with sherman saying after winning nfc championship, "don't ever try me with a sorry receiver the Crabtree, don't you ever talk about me, lob !(Richard Sherman) Interview with Erin Andrews. Yeah I'd have to be a moron to think db was pedestrian
@@Playthellgb42 just because you don't know doesn't make you the authority. You'd think if you were a db fan since he came to Seattle like I have been you'd know that.
Wilson should already be a two time MVP winner, for the 2015 season, and the 2017 season. The NFL is going to see in 2019... Wilson could put together a BIG season with the young WRs the team has... DK Metcalf is a smart bet for OROY in 2019, and Gary Jennings should do well in Doug's old slot spot. Tyler Lockett should have a 1,000 yard, 10 TD year, too.
@@casper_raine nobody has been paying much attention to my team and player predictions, but I'm almost always within an inch of the bullseye, for every Seahawks season... been a lifelong fan, since birth (got a fun story regarding how I was brought home from the hospital by my parents, in 1981), and I have done these yearly assessments, going all the way back to 1998... this year is the first season where I have high expectations again, but the pandemic is making it nigh impossible to seriously assess... Can you imagine having home games, at the C'Link, with none of the 12s? Yuck yuck yuck... I hate the thought of that happening. But I would understand if it had to be done, for public health reasons. Go 'Hawks!
Youre correct! He should have won twice. If Pete would quit tying his hands, I think he'd have won a lot more of everything. Pete's "old school run game" gotta go!!! Go Hawks! Ho Russel!
He should of been mvp that year bruh. Only reason we missed the playoffs that year was because of Blair Walsh missing field goals which costed us 3 games. We would of made the playoffs and he should of won it. Hey at least this year it looks like he will get that mvp.
It's crazy how Wilson can fire that ball from the pocket down the middle of the field...that's a pitcher's arm he has! And other throws he lops it up over all the defenders to a place only his receiver can get it.
Wilson is a top 5 QB, what he does behind that line and his ability to extend plays you see how his receivers make plays it's because defenders have to gameplan for wilson to watch if he runs it's crazy coming from a cardinals fan this guy is amazing hopefully we have our own wilson in murray
I don’t like how mvp winners win. Usually your team needs a playoff appearance and you have to ha e the best stats out of everyone. It should be a player that a team most values. The patriots without Tom Brady are still a playoff team. The Seahawks without Wilson lose to the browns consistently. He had the most passings touchdowns. 100% of his teams passing yards and at least 30% of his teams rushing yards. (Most rushing yards on his team and also first player to have those stats) he also made every offensive touchdown for his team with the exception of one TD.
Bruh the MVP award is just like the Heisman Trophy is in college... It's not about who the best player is, it's about who the most popular player is on the best team of that year. Meaning it has always been a popularity contest. People really need to start understanding that. Hints why Derrick Henry won over Christian McCaffery, and why Tom Brady wins almost all the time.
I agree with most of what you're saying but you have to be valuable on a successful team imo. If you're team didn't make the playoffs than it doesn't matter how well you played or how valuable you are your season was a failure
Please, "The patriots without Tom Brady are still a playoff team". You can say anything you want but don't step on The Greatest Quarterback of all time, the Goat's shoes. Nope. Every year they rebuild a new team around Brady.
Tijuana SIX : The classic definition of the MVP is the player whose contributions are most crucial to his team. By that definition, Russell should already be a 3-time winner.
Adam Bassett : Brady hasn’t even beaten Russ in New England (Foxborough), and Russ flat outplayed him in the Stupid Bowl, too. That one play-call by Darrell Bevell...😡
Yo eekwu, you are an African, Russell Wilson is NOT an African, so he is NOT black by African standards...NEITHER AM I! But I an BLACK by American standards. I am Afro-American and AFRO-AMERICANS ARE ALL MIXED RACE!!! Hence your comment is irrelevant, beside the point; in the US RUSSELL is BLACK!!!! A lot of "White Americans" are ALSO MIXED RACE! In any case "RACE" is more significant as a SOCIOLOGICAL THAN A BIOLOGICAL fact!
@@Playthellgb42 He is afro-adjacent. Stop ranting if you don't know what you're talking about. Both parents are at least 40% americans who are closer descendants to true Africans
One of the most impressive seasons I’ve ever seen by a QB, if not the most.. he had the worst o line, scrum of backs and average defense. He scored every touchdown but 2 for the entire team, 1 was a pick 6 lol
I know this tape was about Russell Wilson, but Jimmy Graham should get a costarring roll. Also whatever they are paying that big tight end it ain't enough.
I wish they had kept Paul Richardson. He would have been the natural replacement for Baldwin. I would bet money that, if they had known they were going to lose Baldwin to retirement-level injuries, they would have kept him.
No they would make the playoffs but that’s no insult to Wilson he is a great player that carries this team but there is no way three first ballet will only win 3 games
watching this after the trade, i have only a few thoughts, 1) Jimmy graham was a monster in the redzone, like a cheat code. 2) I miss the hell out of baldwin, dude had so much swag and his routes were nasty 3) Richardson if he woulda stayed could have been a top 10 WR in the nfl by now. 4) where the hell did tanner mcevoy go?
His touch pass was as pretty as Marisa Tomei. Too bad he's lost that arc and his legs diminshed, but he was a hell of a QB that should've got MVP nods from the "thinkers" that vote.
I wish we had Tom Brady this season so that way everyone could see how mediocre he is compared to Russ. He would have wanted to be traded or whined to the HC bout the OL. Foh, Brady aint shit compared to Russ.
It's not even that it's just he never has the right supporting cast after 2014. The last time he had a good supporting cast he was in the SB. And to me his best years from 2015 to now would be 2015 szn and 2019 szn. 2015 he went crazy in the 2nd half of the szn but Cam went crazy wit the panthers and went 15-1. 2019 he had a really good year but Lamar and the Ravens went 14-2. Him and Lamar are easily the most disrespected QB's rn
Yo Hon : Crazy thing is that they could have traded for LeVeon Bell or another back in 2017 if they had wanted to. They never seem to go after high-end free agents.
You obviously don't watch him play, because when he does have a pocket, he has no problem throwing from it. He just rarely has a good enough offensive line to give him a constant pocket to work from. So keep your false views to yourself.
RUSSELL WILSON CAN THROW FROM ANYWHERE AND HE SETS NEW PASSING RECORD EVERY YEAR!!! JUST GIVE THE MAN HIS PROPS...IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN ASS OTHERWISE!!! WILSON'S BRILLIANT PLAY CAN'T DENIED!!!
Imo you're an idiot to think Brady deserved it over Wilson this season. Don't get me wrong, Brady is the best player to ever play football hands down. But, he's also got the best coach ever and a ton of talent around him. Wilson had absolutely nothing this year. The defense was decent, as always the receivers are highly underrated, but the O Line and run game were historically bad. No single RB on the hawks rushed for over 300 yards. Wilson led the team in rushing and also (don't quote me on this as I'm not looking up stats) I believe led the league in sacks/pressure on the QB. The guy had an absolutely dominate season in every sense of the word. The only household name on the roster was Russell Wilson (and maybe Earl Thomas, who is my favorite player.) He was the MVP in absolutely every definition in the book. The one to not only play insanely well, but rally the troops and keep spirits high when we played like shit. I believe Pete Carroll has been so successful because he has a tendency to get his players to buy into his system and ideologies. I believe Russell Wilson enables that to a big degree. So beyond his play, I truly believe he was an extension of Pete's plan being executed the way it was envisioned. As a biased Seahawks fan, I think the biggest contribution of the Seahawks success has been having everyone on the same page nearly all the time.
