Yes, that is a huge value and he can evade a front four while extending the play which makes it impossible for cb's and safeties. It doesn't matter how good the other teams defense is. He is a great nullifier.
His ability to keep plays alive is just amazing. All them team's that don't play them twice a year are the lucky one's my 49er's are not. he's like the Barry Sanders of quarterbacks
Barry and Russ, Great comparison. Both incredibly talented and elusive. RW says that he studied Fran Tarkenton. Barry once stated that he learned his moves from two hand touch football as a kid. Both were smaller guys in the League, and so two hand touch - even one hand touch - by those Dline and linebackers would be play-over. But time and time again, run or pass for the first downs, RW gets out done, without a finger laid on him.
@@DontTrustAnybody75 Russell Wilson is going in to the hall of fame for sure. This man NEVER gets NO respect. And SEATTLE gets no respect either. Both are very very underrated. Die hard SEATTLE fan here. . Win. Lose. Or tie. . Seattle all the way. 💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚
Future hall a famer. Dude is just a flat out winner. Blows me away how he's still overlooked, know it's Lamar Jackson over Russ. Hey experts, this year is the 1st. year Jackson is a full time starter, Russ has been doing this going on 8 years. SMH
Dan Crews He is HOF probably, and if you look at the stats, Lynch was stuffed on the goal line 6/7 times that year. He is good against D-Line, but not great against the linebackers.
All those doubters who didn’t draft him because of his size didn’t realize it was an advantage. Just look at all those pass rushers struggling to get to him lmao. This man is a genius and no wonder why he rarely gets injured.
He's been doing this since 2012 and people have been acting like it's normal or any QB in the league can do this. Glad imma Hawks fan to know I've been watching greatness for all these years. Go HAWKS
N Milligan underrated pass!! I don’t even know how he saw Baldwin whilst being chased by 2 enormous men, made a strong ~30 yd throw running to his left with his shoulders almost turned backwards, put it riiiight on the sideline so it couldn’t get picked, and then BALDWIN. Doug Baldwin with a miraculous catch and toe drag against the sideline. And all for a critical 3rd down conversion in a tight game. Just unbelievable
As a 49ers fan that has had some animosity towards the Seahawks, I have mad respect for Russell Wilson. He deserves another ring. Just not this year. 9ers taking it this year. Revenge tour 2020!
If you watch the tape. Russ's eyes are always down field. He's not running to run. He's running to pass. It's why he's so dangerous. You have to defend both. A rock and a hard place. Russ puts you there. All thou some of these passed were terrible. He should have never thrown them. Up for grabs? Eek!
Russell Wilson watching this years Super Bowl makes it even better. He understands what Mahomes was going through At least the receivers catch the damn ball though... the Chiefs don’t even catch Mahomes amazing throws
@@benitoquevedo4843 Actually, that's incorrect. Queue refers to a line or order. Cue is the correct spelling. "Cue the circus music" Cue: a thing said or done that serves as a signal to an actor or other performer to enter or to begin their speech or performance
We will never see another Russ. This man can make something out of nothing. There’s nothing to hate about this man, I couldn’t ask for a better QB. #InRussWeTrust
The problem is that his only gimmick was how fast he was. Now that he’s lost his speed and he has to sit in the pocket it’s exposing the fact that he can’t see over the lineman
@@blanketflunky9823 Nah that gimmick was Vick and Lamar (see week 1 vs the chiefs, and the pro bowl minigame), their whole game's based on speed. Russ could do more than that, particularly the deep ball which was best in the game. But yeah, I do agree his speed was extremely important because of his height.
And they say that Cam Newton is a great Quarterback I think not Russell Wilson is the Man. There is a reason why his nickname is " DangeRuss "...Go Hawks !
Russell is awesome, from a die hard hawk fan through all the bad years and then we got Russell. Thanks for the highlights man and glad you got paid....i kill madden with him...
I love Russ but after watching the Steelers game has me thinking he doesn't seem to be scrambling like he used to. And he's getting a bit heavier in the midsection. But I hope that's not the case
Knowing anyone of those plays for your typical qb is really potentially "career ending" Russ is one of a kind & the best qb's is those who give their receiver a chance regardless of situation I think seahawks made a wise decision keeping him on board!
Sad he left, but sadder the way a lot of us fans treat him now. He's corny but a good guy; no DUIs and doesn't break into houses unlike some of our beloved players. And he was elite for us even though he relied on his legs--though not as much as Vick or Lamar--given his height. That scrambling and the best deep ball in the league, to Lockett, made for some insane plays like right here. Don't forget his throw straight up into the air that landed in Lockett's basket to win the game vs the Chiefs. They had a great synergy.
Barry Sanders and Russell Wilson....
Watching this makes me realize that Russell has lost a half step. He's still mobile but can't avoid sacks like he use to. They need to figure out that offensive line already.
The timing and field vision it takes to improvise like that presents a higher degree of difficulty than being a rhythm passer. Contrary to what many people outside of Seattle believe, Russ has shown in his career that he can do both. He can throw on rhythm, throw over the midfield, throw with anticipation, throw to a spot, and make pre-snap reads…all of the stuff people claim he can’t do. The only claim with any validity is that you need to limit his post-snap reads, and that’s only because he has usually had poor or limited protection, and he is a shorter QB so the protection has to hold up even better for him to get through those reads. That doesn’t reflect an inability to read defenses or the field or a low IQ, it’s just a physical limitation. He cannot help that. Any guy who can take the kinds of snapshots he had to take to make the plays seen in this video (and while on the move, no less) can read the h3ll out of a defense! That’s why Justin Fields will never be as good as Russ regardless of what he learns from Russ. It’s like Prince giving guitar lessons. It won’t make you Prince. What Russ has is a God-given ability that cannot be explained. Russ’s height is a challenge not a failing. His coaches should be addressing his height challenge by investing in stout O-Lines and giving him a few more pass attempts per game (37?) so he can throw the ball away and avoid taking sacks without sacrificing his numbers. And remember, his numbers translate to wins!
He was alright last year even if the narrative is that he wasn't. Efficient and a decent PFF grade. I agree with you but he did need his legs to help see everything, given his height.
These. Are. Awesome. RW has made watching football a lot of fun again. When I was growing up, (90s), Randall Cunningham was elusive and had a decent arm. Michael Vick was Michael Vick. But since Vick, we've had a bunch of white, immobile QBeez that cannot make shit up and consistently, time and time again, run or pass for the first downs. RW just for MVP? Russell Wilson single-handedly saved the National Football League.
Wilson is not really a RB. He's a QB that's best in the league with no help around him and a bad OC. He scrambles to make plays because his o-line can't block for shit. Russ is a passer he's not like Lamar. Lamar is a RB in the QB position who has a good but not great arm.
@@Nnhaa986 So Jackson is a RB that had more pass TDs than Wilson, beat him in Seattle and won all 50 votes over his zero? Just give the man his props he's a QB *and* a RB all-in-one.
Navon Myhand Lamar just happened to have a bunch of offensive weapons and an elite Defense....Wilson had no oline and a mediocre defense. That game was lamar’s to lose. Also mvp is a popularity vote if it actually skill and stats actually mattered Wilson wouldn’t have 0 career mvp votes.
Bruh Russell Wilson is a beast 💯 I remember watching him take Matt Hassellback QB job his rookie year lol I knew he was gonna be really good. Been watching him play since 😂
On that last play, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix tried to time the ball, but it had more air under it than he thought. He saw it; it just had a little bit more hang time on it than anybody expected, given that Russ was running backwards when he threw it. Whoever says Russ doesn’t have a strong arm doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Russ’s arm is VERY strong...with a soft touch and a tight spiral.
Andrew luck a underapperatiated qb no o line and took the hits giving him a whole lotta injuries. Russell wilson a underrated qb who makes up for his o line.
DANGEROUS WILSON so underrated too. Never gets no respect. SEATTLE has been to 3 superbowls. 2 with Russell Wilson. Lost one. And won one. Has unbelievable stats. Always breaking and setting new records. No respect. I'll say this tho. He's definitely going in to the hall of fame. 💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙 Go hawks Seattle nation BABY. Seattle all the way. 💚💚💚💚💙💙💙💙
If Russell Wilson played for the Cowboys, the Steelers, the Packers, or the 49ers, he'd be the only player the media talks about. But because they think Seattle is on another planet, he gets ignored for flavors of the month like Garropolo and Lamar Jackson.
