I loved the "Beware of the squirrels!" sign....! I've been to Versailles a couple of times but never to Peterhof. I'd like to go there but also to Pushkin and to the Catherine Palace. Generally I prefer Moscow to St.Petersburg but places like "Kuskovo" in Moscow (although well-worth a visit) can't compare to the palaces that St.Petersburg has...

I had the opportunity to spend a winter vacations in the residences, that used to be the horse stables of the palace. Outstanding place in winter, but even better in the summer time, when you can appreciate the beauty and scale of this magnificent palace and its gardens, the hundreds of water fountains. Honestly, there maybe only one or two sites in the world, comparable in beauty to Peterhof Palace.

Visited in August 1978. Such Good memories of my trip by car in USSR in that year. Greetings from Italy.

I've been to high St Petersburg and Moscow. St Petersburg is like Paris and Moscow is like New York. There are so much to do in St Petersburg. The winter palace and Armitage museum Marineskey theater, the bridges, chruches and after midnight sunsets are fantastic. In Moscow, only the Kremlin and subway stations were interesting for me.
