Amid the Ukraine war, Russia faces another catastrophic disaster in the Orenburg region near the Kazakhstan border due to flooding after a dam burst. Over 4000 people rescued after torrential rains caused massive flooding especially in Orsk city. Russia also initiated a criminal case for "negligence and violation of construction safety rules" concerning the burst dam, constructed in 2014.

Failure to maintain the dam is the cause of the disaster. It was about 25 years old, but in order to save money, maintenance was not properly performed. This is a typical Russian problem with infrastructure. Corruption takes its toll.

Such a dysfunctional country. If they were not wasting the money of their people onto war and other chest beating activities, they would have prevented this dam to break with normal engineering process.
