Russia-China Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline Accident?

The ESPO is being developed at Lightspeed to link China and Russia. Why does this pipeline still exist? Why has there not been an accident over this large pipeline that feeds the despotism in Russia and China? We want a world of peace and freedom, not just for our side but all people. This fossil fuel monstrosity is vulnerable to all kinds of accidents, and it could cause environmental damage if it continues to be developed. Sino-Russian love is based on oil, a double coincidence of wants and comparative advantage, rather than true love. What will the world do about the Russian Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean Oil and gas pipeline?

True, China wants to reduce the West's and Russia's military strengths, and is using the Russo-Ukrainian war to do it.
@louisgiokas2206

You nailed it. China's recent official maps show parts of Russia as Chinese territory. The territorial disputes, often mentioned by Xi, go back to the Russian Empire and Qing dynasty days. The Chinese claim that they were forced to sign several unequal treaties. Even in the recent past, Jiang Zemin signed away a big chunk of territory. After Jiang died it came out that the Russians forced his hand because they had compromising information on him from his time studying in the Soviet Union. Xi intentionally released that information but waited until after Jiang was dead. Some think that if Russia is defeated in Ukraine, it would be an easy thing for China to move in. Russian doctrine is to use nukes to combat such a move. Considering the relative size and quality of their nuclear arsenals I don't think Russia would even hesitate. Heck, half the missiles probably have water in them instead of fuel. Others are reportedly in silos that won't open. The thing about the oil price sanctions is a little confused. The oil price cap did what could be done by the west short of actually seizing cargos. Russian oil can no longer be carried on ships insured by western companies. This has led to the shadow fleet. which is far less efficient, something the west cannot control by indirect means. The other thing that Mark fails to understand is that China is paying a very low price for Russian oil and gas. They don't pay the world market price. Russia just needs to keep the wells pumping so they don't freeze up. The price issue is a big part of the reason the big gas pipeline Russia wants to build is not happening. China does not want to be beholding to Russia, having seen what they did to Europe. They also are offering too low a price. Russia also needs Chinese capital to build the pipeline. That is not forthcoming.

Really deep down, can you define a state to state relationship between another 2 country that are NOT like this? How about this, how can we use each other + we have a common enemy. Stable relationships between counties have been built on far less..
@louisgiokas2206
@louisgiokas2206 2 месяца назад
@@ZxZ239 Well, I can think of two. One is the US and Canada. The other is the US and Mexico. Of course, what you say applies to Europe and all of European history (we don't even have to restrict it to modern history). It is also more generally correct. Right now, the French are in an alliance opposing Russia. This is often the exception. Think of the situation before WWI. France and Russia were allies against the Germanic empires. On the other hand, Napolean invaded Russia in the previous century. In WWII, after Germany invaded the Soviet Union, France and the Russians were back on the same side. Then, after the war they weren't. But the most glaring example of this, and the most relevant to the current discussion, has to do with China. Nixon's opening to China was specifically seen as a counter to the Soviet Union. Initially it was nothing more. The bulk of the economic stuff came after the fall of the Soviets.

@@EconLessons Agree. I have long been thinking that the west is in this primarily to keep Russia tied down in Ukraine and bleeding. It makes sense from the western POV. It would be important to postpone or delay any Russian realization that Ukraine will not be theirs. Metering the flow of western stuff to Ukraine is the spigot for inducing Russia to have hope that they could win. A short sharp quick defeat there would only convince Russia to move its empire-building activities to places that are harder for the west to supply - and probably bring out Lavrov for another highly-punctuated (almost spitting mad) rattling of the nuclear threat. Ideal option for the west is for Russia to exhaust itself there and go home - and that is absolutely horrible for Ukraine :(

Coupled withe Ukraine's attacks on oil refineries and storage facilities in Russia and suddenly the one dimensional gas station masquerading as a country called Russia grinds to a halt

The way I understand it, this pipeline hasn't been completed, and all construction on it halted when the war started as the western engineers and expertise left the country. This was discussed during Putin's visit to China, and it basically boiled down to Russia wanting China to pay for the construction. Xi said, "Sure, but in return, all the disputed territory along our border in Manchuria will no longer be disputed because those territories will be Chinese." And Putin said, "Well, we can't do that." Then Xi said, "Then pay for the d@m pipe yourself." And that's where it ended, and that's why nobody is talking about it on YT or anywhere else. Russia won't solve her defensive buffer zone problem in the West (Ukraine) by creating another buffer zone problem to the East (Manchuria). At least, that's how I understand the dilemma.

Mark, I have an answer for you. At the start of Russia's War against every "Western" nation in the entire world, those very same "Western" nations responded by declaring all of the Russian Empire to be a sanctuary, off-limits to any attack by any "Western" nation that was at war with Russia. Unlike the Russian Empire, "Western" nations keep their word, even when doing so is patently absurd. However, I have a question for you. My understanding is that the Russian Empire has another pipeline across Ukraine that delivers energy to nations like Hungary and Moldova. Why has that pipeline not been destroyed?

Because when you can't summon strong actions, you summon strong words. Words meant to poison and divide your enemy, to declare them incapable or obtaining victory, or if they are capable, then somehow unworthy or otherwise illegitimate. It won't work. What Russia attempts to exploit is our individualism, which they percieve as indicative of a fractured society. But the West was never fractured because the West was never fused; we have always been an interwoven network of relationships that were built upon the ability to choose. Not always choose between two options that were good, but at least be able to reason our way upwards in time, to attain a better situation for ourselves and for the children. I'm not surprised that Russia, a Nation self-deluded to such an extent that it is still adhering to the superstitious concept of possessing a "destiny", cannot comprehend such a truly free society. For if people could choose not to be Russian, then Russia would cease to exist.

The pipeline to Germany was natural gas and Usa don't care if natural gas prices goes up. The oil pipeline to China is as the name says oil and if that is down then China buys oil from other countries sending the price of oil up. That is probably why it still is up and running. If Usa stop supporting Ukraine under Trump administration(if he wins) then I think we will see this pipeline and many others go boom pretty fast.

They haven't even reached an agreement on the pipeline yet, so construction hasn't begun on this pipeline as I'm aware. (the one from Siberia to China, maybe I'm thinking of a different one) Also, it will take a minimum of ten years to build if everything goes well. Russia and China don't have ten years to pull this trick out of the hat, they need it now.

Disgruntled native american tribes, millions of foreigners, disgruntled people who think the government creates viruses via GoF and trafficks children ala Epstein... has long unguarded oil pipelines and electricity transfer infrastructure through remote areas.... Yes why hasnt the US declared a full infrastructure war 😂😂 This channel is satire.

So - What would that do to the economy of China? Those 1.3 billion people in China have to eat too. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Maybe, if the Russian oil stopped, the big boss in China would tell Putin, "Enough is enough! Stop your stupid war and behave.." As was stated in the video, his money would be cut off so he would have to comply.

I look forward to your videos. Such beautiful backgrounds with the sounds of nature. Funny I remember the train between China and Russia had two "accidental breakage" one in a tunnel and another futher down the track. If that can happen so can it happen to the pipeline. Slava Ukraine!

The answer to your question is the weapons that China can provide to Russia. Maybe it is the reason why China has refrained from providing weapons to Russia so far.

Ukraine avoids to damage crude oil facilities because the US hates increasing oil prices and especially in a election year. My theory 😂

I’ve been thinking this since the beginning, but not just the China pipeline. In the northern fields if you hit the pipelines you shut down the wells, they freeze up, and from what I understand Russia doesn’t have the expertise to reopen them. Russia, before the inevitable breakup of the “federation”, would be SOL. Then they could become Muscovia, with no resources and very cramped territory-and then we could talk about their nuclear disarmament. Either that or they sell off the Hermitage to stay afloat. A beautiful thing to contemplate.
