Russia Furious Over US Missiles in Germany, Says Plan Signals Cold War | Firstpost America
Russia has warned that Washington's plan to deploy long-range missiles in Germany from 2026 signals the return of the Cold War. During the three-day NATO Summit in Washington, the US announced that it will periodically station missiles in Germany as a deterrent. Now, Moscow has said that the move could lead to Cold War-style confrontation between Russia and the West. The weapons will include SM-6 missiles, Tomahawk cruise missiles and hypersonic weapons that have a longer range than current capabilities in Europe. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the planned deployment is necessary and important especially at this time.
