On August 16, Ukraine struck a Kerch ferry crossing and a boat near Chernomorsk, with damage details unclear. Explosions were reported in Crimea. A Russian Tu-22M3 bomber crashed in Siberia, killing one crew member. Putin’s aide, Nikolay Patrushev, claimed Ukraine's Kursk incursion was supported by the US and NATO. Ukraine announced a new military office in Kursk, and the US is considering supplying Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM) to Ukraine amid concerns about ammunition shortages for its offensives.

The Ukrainian government is lawfully defending their territory with their OWN LEGALLY CONSTITUTED MILITARY. They are not TERRORISTS. Defending your own territory _IS_ self-defense. The Ukrainian military does not slaughter civilians wholesale. They have not declared a genocidal war against the state or the people of Russia. They simply want to be an independent nation, with their own legitimately elected government that is NOT subject to the rule of a foreign wannabe emperor-dictator. In taking their fight INTO RUSSIA, they have NOT slaughtered Russian soldiers out-of-hand, they accepted their surrenders and have treated them far better than they were treated BY THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT. The Ukrainian military have not ANIHILATED any Russian town in the same way that Russia has done to civilian areas in Ukraine. They have not bombed schools, hospitals, shopping malls, or apartment buildings. They have attacked MILITARY TARGETS and infrastructure that supports the military targets. 1 : Russia never said 3 days, it was CNN analysts. 2 Those cities in the donbass are heavily fortified since 2014 with bunkers, underground ammo depots, mine fields and lines after lines of trenches. Kursk is just a open field with farms and no trenches or fortification..
