Indian dance performance based on South Indian Classical Dance elements of Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. Song: "Raa Raa" from "Chandramukhi" (telugu song) Choreography & performance by: Svetlana Tulasi svetlanatulasi.com svetlanatulasi
Dear friends, Thank you so much for your lovely comments! I would like to express my mixed feelings about this performance. It was my first attempt to perform a choreography with elements of South Indian Classical dance which I know I am not trained in like I am in Kathak. I just felt that I should perform something that is not common (not common matlab not the fitness-sexy-bollywood that we see 24/7) - and a Telugu song was my choice, which I ask you to accept as something that was important for me personally, being a Telugu-Russian by origin. I also felt very bad for the sound editing in this video, as the person responsible for sound editing didn't do his job properly to put together the sound of ghungroos recorded on mic and the song itself, so the ghungroos sounded completely out of rhythm which of course was not what people have actually heard during my live performance. Those who watch my videos know pretty much about my sense of rhythm. I will keep presenting different shades of Indian culture to the world, stay tuned for more :)
Svetlana Tulasi sad and alarming to know you had such a bad experience with the DID makers. But nevertheless, we Indians back home, especially Telugu fans of yours absolutely love and enjoy your performances. And coming to this song, somehow, this doesn't turn out to be one of your best performances, in my opinion. I felt your choreographer couldn't comprehend the feel of the song and hence, the mood of the song was not simulated in your performance. Nevertheless, I believe it is a learning experience and I wish you all success in your future endeavours! 😍 Thanks for showcasing Indian classical dance forms on a foreign platform. Keep pursuing your passion and interest in dance. Love from Andhra Pradesh, India! Jai Hind.
Svetlana Tulasi do any Indian classical but I never understand the idea of mixing bharatnatyam and kuchipudi. Kuchipudi needs fluid movements whereas bharatnatyam needs geometrical postures. If u decide a move of one style it ruins another style, fusion should be complementing, not deteriorating one style while doing another. All the best for next performance.
bollywood could use you... youre so good but in the wrong country you will not do well....i love u... very good talent... very graceful very beautiful....kiss
As an indian woman who loves classical dances, you have done a pretty good Performance full of grace and dignity ,and keep up your love for indian dances, belive me you have lots and lots of supporters.thumbs up.👍👍👍
We Love you svetlana. Did us Indians proud. never mind the bad side of projecting a different culture. keep it up. congratulations. Yes You Have A Mother Who Supports You.
Svetlana don’t worry about their comments. This is one of the toughest forms of dances in the world having learnt myself when I was young. You did really well. Professional class performance 🙏🏻
The lady judge was disappointed with you when she heard you had an Indian father, I don't know russian, but her facial expression spoke for her later judgement. Such biased & racist people should be kept away from public platforms. But u have a great mom who has supported u all along your journey. Keep smiling.😊💓
@@bharath2508 sir, you are absolutely wrong. You show your ignorance. There are about 200 nationalities in Russia. It's the unique country where people of all nationalities live peacefully together and respect each other. This internationalism mentality us incorporated in every person of Russia. Indian films were extremely popular in the Soviet Union. People were watching Indian films with their dances and song several times. Our parents , our elders are raised up as people who are ready give up lives for freedom of other nations' people. Study our story. Study, how Soviet Union, the Russians saved India from Americans in 1971. And feel a little bit gratitude. Russia had been helping India all the time. That is why our presidents have very good relations. By spreading desinformation you just work as troll. Looks like you are the biggest racists here. Russia is always for peace, friendship and justice. Remember the second world war. It was Soviet Union who lost about 20 mln people due to racists philosophy that Hitler had. And it was the Soviet Union, the Russians who conquered those black forces. And now you blame Russia in racism? During the Second World War, Nikolai Kisilev saved lives of Jewish people.Kiselyov is best remembered in the West for his work in saving the lives of more than two hundred Jews endangered by the Nazi occupation of Belarus, where he was leading a detachment of the Soviet partisan movement in 1942. Kiselyov was posthumously recognized as one of the Russian Federation's Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem, Israel's national Holocaust memorial, in 2005. It's only one example. But during that time every solder and every second Russian was a hero. Don't you remember who freed Europe from racists and Hitler? You must study history and modern political situation. Otherwise you will remain an uneducated person. To be a confused person in modern time is dangerous for life as we can see in Ukraine where nationalism was spread last years. Such nationalism starts from the ignorance that you demonstrate . God bless you with wisdom.
Amazing solo performance, this is absolutely on point, no one can make it better!! I want that lady judge to go on stage and try it, she needs to be removed!!
@@visible-xk9cq solo means single person style, and i wasnt sure the name of the dance so i as implying that she did this by herself wonderfully (solo). :)
She was so amazing. I so so sorry for those who are totally unable to judge her performance due the lack of culture. This style of dance is kinda of a pray, right? Wish her all success and keep up thru the roof.
She danced so nicely.. All her moves were filled with just grace and charm... I'm 100% sure the lady judge is jealous of the girl's beauty and talent...
The very fact that you braved to present an Indian dance form to an audience which is totally new to it, without being concerned of acceptance deserves an applause! Listen to the words of those senior judges, and please keep going.
Just today I watched a performance of yours, your grace, expressions are really unmatchable. I'm really surprised, in India some dance shows who ignore our own culture of dance and promote, motivate western style of dance. But see artist like you place your culture first. I really like the way you dance. I'm not a dancer, but after watching your videos I'm inspired and want learn kathak. May God shower lots of blessings, good health, fame to you and your family.
They just don't know how difficult this dance is...hand movements, feel, body language all perfect with mind blowing expressions😀..I got goosebumps watching this😍😍😍...anyone can fall in love with you💖💖💖
No matter whether you are in or out, we are really proud of you that you have shown immense respect towards your origination.. May be judges are right in thier own way or may be wrong, but I absolutely loved every bit of it.. Thanks for this show madam
Omg you made those anklets chime, you actually made them chime!! That's amazing. It is no easy feat to dance barefoot and get those anklets to chime over the music. True commitment and passion to the dance ❤️❤️
I was having goosebumps while watching your dance. Very nice moves and proud of you for representing the Indian dance on the stage. You set the stage on fire. keep going...!
Mind-blown by your performance! The judges don't know to judge this performance for sure except the one who called it brilliant. It was a brilliant performance. Hand movements were so precise.. They didn't connect because they didn't know how to judge this performance. I absolutely loved it!
Ohhhh! You are a gifted dancer!! Indian Culture in your genes!! Even better than Indian dancers!! Its God's own feeling to follow Indian Culture!! Dance as much as you can! Its for devotion!!!

Goosebumps Madam . Respect to you. Keep moving like a river never stop . Some may drop flowers and some may throw stones into the river but river never stops
I just randomly watched this video and very happy that you danced very gracefully for the song in my language 'Telugu'. I don't know what the judges said in Russian language. But your dance and expressions are awesome. God bless you.
watching this in October 2023. It is indeed mesmerizing to watch such a talent. but all those oldies who cannot even walk probably are judging such an energetic dance. :)
The song is beautiful, no words for the music! And Svetlana's elegance as a dancer is just so synchronised with the entire concept!! Just mesmerized!!!
I might be 3 years late but.. I'm here! Truth of the matter is, the world lacks exposure to Indian cultural elements. I'm not Indian but my ancestors were; I've come to realize the delicate, intricate beauty the art form has to offer. What one of the judges said is true: "it's quite tough to watch a long live Indian classical dance performance for an European person". Not everyone likes coffee and that is fine. I just hope we, as humans, bring out and share various non-mainstream art forms in our lifetime because, we can only do it when we're alive. And for that, thank you for sharing with the world, this beautiful dance piece Svetlana.
Svetlana dear you are so awesome. I have immense happy that you are a Telugu girl. when I saw your performance for the first time, I got doubt that you might related to India. Hence I searched your biography and got to know about your parents. Then my doubts were rectified. Really I am so happy that you are making your father feel proud by your act. Though he is not on the earth physically, he is always with you in every move of your life🥰🥰🥰
Dear Svetlana, you are perfect in Indian dance.Really speaking Russian Judges are not aware of concepts expressed in the Indian dance.Only experts know the expressions exhibited.Be blessed......Yours affectionately-Uncle

Superb! Each Every Steps balancing with Music and Also Body Expression. This is the Beauty of Indian Classical Kuchipudi Bhartanatyam Dance.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖💖💖💖
Svetlana Tulasi, YOU ARE THE ONLY RUSSIAN who can deliver the most profound artistic language of the Gods. Walk proud, stay strong and do what you believe in and enjoy most. Love and blessings.
Wonderful display of Indian dance moves. Hats off for ur effort in training in this dance style. Keep it up and looking forward for ur classical stage performances.
Give a tight slap to that lady judge.. Tell her to come out of that comfort zone, wear such heavy jewellery and costume and dance in Indian ever classical katthak mudras.. She will die instantly at two steps.. When she doesn't know anything, how dare she judged the performance.. Nonsense butches, jealousy all over in body language.. Technically there were many miss outs.. It could have been more wonderful.. But you have simply done a graceful presentation and wonderful job without being trained as well.. That never ending flame of effort was on stage.. It burnt the lady judge actually.. Kudos!!!! Haha.. Respect from India.. Keep Going girl
