This is becoming a serious investigative journalism site now. Reaching out to various lawyers and governments around the world. Top Credit to you Sir Must be a surprise to you and as refreshing to you as it is to us of how your work is evolving. Well done
Wait till the luxury submarine secretive market is brought into the light. Paul Allen x Microsoft Co owner is 1 of many with billions to kill boredom after owning everything ever and a need for more. I would if I had the billions. 🤔make that maybe
I've no idea how eSysman maintains employment in the SY universe and also has time to turn out this outstanding endless content, but I'm glad he figured out how to do it! Cheers.
@@anthonymaddison9588 He is on rotation. He has never mentioned what boat he works on, although I am sure some folks know or have figured it out. (I have my own guess) There aren't THAT many big boats that need to rotate 2 full time E-System technicians. He keeps the two parts totally separate. I would imagine he has a good working relationship with his boats captain and owner.
Thanks for the info about your friend who passed away. Hearing about what this community has done for his widow makes me happy just to a tiny part of it all.
Glad to hear Ursus family can get some closure. Having to deal with a loved ones remains is difficult enough when it's in your town let alone overseas.
Your channel is so informative and it’s so refreshing that your character inclines you to only report facts or what we know are facts of the time of reporting. Besides the wonderful pics of beautiful vessels it’s a great site to obtain knowledge of the yachts , and the seas and ports they traveling and out of. Thank you for the great channel. Please keep it up.
Love your channel, I find it entertaining and relaxing to listen to. You have one of the best voices out there. I'm surprised a tv network hasn't tried to pick you up.
Glad to hear that you friends family was able to get help with the closure . It is remarkable what people can do when they all pull together. I am surprised of all the yacht s the software king has.. quite amazing story.. Thank you again for the opportunity to visit your world and enjoy your news.. You folks are awesome🎉
It's just a sliver of the murky world of billionaire property ownership, you can hardly find who owns half the apartments on Central Park behind a wall of shell companies and LLC paperwork.
Net worth doesn't mean they have that much in the bank. But yeah, at the level of "billionaire" money really loses meaning. It becomes how you spend it instead of how much. So they have to buy these ridiculous boats to keep up with each other.
@@obsidianjane4413what a pain having to spend tens, hundreds of millions because why not when it's staying on top with exotic yachts, crews, maintenance is probably not given a thought re: co$t$. I buy lotto tickets 🤞someone has to win. Joking aside my Canadian life is blessed.
Some owners stow fine paintings or jewels on board, recalling your report on M/Y Amadea's Fouxbrege Egg, I'd like to think that Gabe maybe has a integrated screen, or beautifully wreathed monitor, logged in to display a Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem. Ahh :) I've known the name for a long time but I never knew Newell had ANY yachts, let alone to this extent! Never would've guessed... Kind of endearing, makes me smile. 👍
This isn't the first time Putin has had Russia's richest man arrested. It's a power play to show who's in charge and comes with some nice Rubles on the side.
Gabe Newell, president of Valve, one of largest game distribution platforms (Steam). With so much focus on which companies Russians own, it would be nice to see a 10 sec background clip on who is he, or what businesses he runs…
Gabe might be much more well known than you'd think in the gaming community which has quite an audience. not just among gamers in the US and EU, he is very popular in China as well, they gave him the nickname G chubby.
You know I think I’m learning too much about yacht because I’m now able to name models when I’m out on lakes and name super yacht names in backgrounds of movies. I just watched ‘Friends with benefits’ and saw motor yacht A in the background of a beach scene
He undoubtedly has massive assets in off shore banks but he should stay away from windows above the second floor and avoid drinking tea with strangers.
Explanation: Cyrillic: CИБЗКО = SIBECO = "Siberian Energy Company" Formerly "Novosibirsk Energy Company." (Its like buying Exxon from the government at a discount.)
Ethnic Ukrainian from Belarus technically. Him and Tinkov are the rare Russian's of that era who made their money legitimately. Guy spoke out against the war and now his assets in Russia will be taken. Rest of international assets have been sanctioned, so he is done for.
This seems like a big ticket version of issuing speeding tickets to car owners - you bought a car - we can find you and you can afford it, you bought a industry - we can find you and you can afford it. For all the privacy these yachts are alleged to afford, it sure makes an owner visible, just like a number plate does.
Motor yacht Bold's biggest party trick is it has a helicopter garage on the lower/main deck that lifts the ceiling up...displacing some seating area in the main auditorium above it. I didn't know there was even over 100 mega yachts out there...😳
Very interesting. The yacht with the huge helicopter pad has to store it on a higher deck but then puts heavier boats where the helicopter cannot stay. What is the reason for this configuration as it does not seem to be payload issues?
Putin's pay offs to pals are the only thing that keeps him in power. Ruble is worth less than 1.00 U.S. Dollar which is untenable. So he's beating sanctions and stealing Ukraine grain and no AIS secretly shipping and re-transporting it for sale. Now he's going after the assets of the Russia people them. What next?
Gee being a Russian oligarch can be rough some days. One side nicks your boat then the other side nicks your other boat. Can’t catch a break. Just make sure you stay away from tall buildings with open windows. 🤣🤣🤣
M/Y A and Ocean Victory have been hiding out in Dubai’s World Islands. Why were the vessels hiding so far out and now they’re flying UAE flags? Well M/Y A is…
7x24=164 hrs on three generators. Do you understand the volume of oil those generators have and the need for regular oil changes? The fuel cost? Cleaning of machine spaces? Painting of machine spaces? The AC units are receiving maintenance daily. These are steal ships setting in salt water. Cleaning of the exterior of the ship must be done constantly, by several crew. The cleaning supplies an average person couldn’t afford. Some of that $120,000 needs to be set aside for major monthly, quarterly and yearly maintenance. Just the fuel cost to exercise the engines will set you back considerably. Yes, it’s a waste!
Gabe's company is Steam. the premier digital software distribution giant, primarily selling video games and hardware. is his yacht called Half Life 3 ?
Should be called 30%, or whatever it is Newell charges game developers to sell via Steam. Goes to show just how lucrative that kind of reselling can be though.
The last century and a half has been absolutely brutal for Russia, they must be used to it by now. It's honestly stunning when you consider that if history had gone differently. Russia could easily have been a hyperpower, with more than a billion people, all of eastern europe, and warm weather port, not in the Mediterranean, but in the Indian ocean. Ever since the russian civil war its been one utter catastrophe over there.
There's another motive for these oligarchs to have a support vessel. If someone is looking to take them out, they won't know which ship the targeted person is on. One vessel is a very easy target.
Yachts are works of art between tech and beautiful designs. Luxury subs are ultra secret until the last 5 minutes. Please think about looking "under" this topic. Pun intended. Did you get a invite onto Connor McGregors recently built performance yacht. 2 5000hp motors is my very limited knowledge re:Connors 2 cool 1 off custom fun machine
Still a bit off on Bold.. The LOWER pad is rated and the inside portion is a hangar. The upper deck is supposed to be a touch and go for normal operations -- but it looks like they wanted the hangar and the lower pad for the toys and tenders. Lower pad is commercially rated and has refueling capacity. Not the first picture I have seen with the bird tied down on the upper deck.. I suspect that is their "preferred" storage spot since the hangar requires more prep and they tend to fill the lower deck with toys.
Funny Half-Life was the only computer game I have ever bought so I technically financed a superyacht collection. So it's true, the personal responsibility of consumers decides whether the world, driven by oligarchs, is socially falling apart and climatically going to the dogs.
I really dont understand why a superyacht costing in excess of 60million needs a support vessel. If there is not enoguh stuff on the superyacht then you have a mental health problem.
7:37 I don't believe for a second that yacht requires $120,000 a week of maintenance! Through logic, it's no more than $50K. It's just sitting there not being used, and needs little care. Maybe a staff of 10-12 being fed, and paid to keep it clean, a captain, an engineer, a chef, and the daily running costs in fuel, water, and electricity. I can't see where $120K would be required each week? Just shy of $6 million a year to sit there? Somebody is skimming off the top whether the government, or those at the top caring for the ship! That would make for a great vlog, explaining in detail how on earth it would cost $120K a week to maintain a yacht of 269' feet just sitting at dock?👍😎✌🗽 P.S. Possibly I'm missing something like yearly costs of maintenance included in that fee, but even then, I have doubts about how much it actually costs to care for a yacht, even at that size, just sitting there! ✌
I have doubts, and I did say maybe I'm missing something. Why comment if you have no info to give, you trolling to just complain, and criticize? You have no more idea than I do so have fun! ✌
Live by the sword die by the sword… I really do not feel bad for these guys. Thankfully he has enough money to run and hide wish him no harm but Russia has very long arms
Your reporting about Russian oligarch yahts is exelent maybe you need to gave as also information of oligarch yahts from USA . GB and ..... Maybe we can hear more intersting info
I never understood why someone would have multiple yachts unless using them for charter or if you were planning to upgrade from one yacht to another. It's certainly not for the investment opportunity.
Some are clearly collecting yachts, others may want both a sailing a yacht and a motor yachts, others have yachts scattered around the world so they don't have to wait for the yacht to sail from on location to another, they can instead fly from yacht to another.
