That Il-96 is a really magnificent looking Russian aircraft, I loved watching these home-grown aircraft put through their paces at VKO and SVO, both very busy airports with aircraft going to all sorts of interesting places in the Russian Federation and beyond!

Die IL-96-400 mag nicht wirtschaftlich sein, aber sieht von den Proportionen her wirklich toll aus. Sehr schönes Flugzeug. (Vor- und bitterer Nachteil der noch nicht klobigen Triebwerke)

Great vid! On 8 April 2022 the US Department of Commerce restricted flights on aircraft manufactured in the US for Aeroflot, Aviastar, Azur Air, Belavia, Rossiya and Utair. On 16 June the US broadened its restrictions on the six airlines after violations of the sanctions were detected. The effect of the restrictions is to ground the US-manufactured part of its fleet.
Le Tupolev est un bien bel oiseau dans lequel j'aimerais voler avec, j'aime ses courbes et sa ligne fine qui la distingue. Il serait très rentable de l'utiliser sur des lignes sous-regionales et nationales. Je suppose également que son entretien ne donne pas des sueurs froides à ses propriétaires.

Yes. Once they develop better engines for the aircraft. They were also planning to make a commercial version but the pandemic made sure that no airline had need for such large aircraft. Putin's plane would need 4 engines but commercial airlines would find that too expensive. Once Russia effectively develops a more powerful engine, they will start making commercial versions of the plane and maybe even Il-96-300s with 2 engines instead of 4.
