Canada beats Russia 5-3 and advances to the final! Yes I am aware I didn't put Russia last goal in the video. All these clips belong to CBC, Sportsnet and the NHL. None of this footage is mine.
That first goal by Crosby, really what differentiates him from stars and superstars, the ability to put it home when it matters most..and against a great goalie too.
Sweden is not up with Canada and Russia. On the rise is Finland. USA will be dominant in 10 years. They currently have the most registered players of all countries.
Russia made stupid mistakes which allowed 2 first goals to Canada. The third Canada's goal was Bobrovski's fail. Last two Canada's goals were beautiful.
@@daddytubewatches no comparison. Crosby Bergeron Marchand. Most amazing blend of offense and defense. Lemieux and Gretzky were the greatest offensive players ever, no comparison but they were defensive liabilities.
Darian Canada imagine if this team had the full squad. Missing Benn, Seguin, Keith, Carter. Also could of had McDavid/Schieffle had there not been a u24 team.
I don’t know what’s going to happen the Bobrovski after that disastrous game 6 against the Bruins. Honestly, I hope Columbus keep him. He’s the main reason they even got as far as they did in the playoffs............
I watched Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux and Howe. Crosby is the best I've seen. Gretzky most dominant among his peers but hockey has changed and skill has increased with less margin between players. Crosby still dominated despite the smaller variation in skill. There's no one in NHL now who isn't hugely skilled There will never be another Gretzky especially in dominating his peers. Orr also for same reasons. Not as dominant as Gretzky but fundamental changing the game.
Can't beat Canada at our own game. It's mostly Canadians winning the Stanley Cup on American teams. We still dominate the game on the international stage.
Mostly canadian players? Penguins have like 60% non-canadian players and 7 from Europe, Malkin,Maatta,Hornqvist,Hagelin,Kuhnhackl,Bengtsson and Blugers.
After just watching that World Junior Gold Medal game tonight I realize how spoiled we were to be able to have the Olympics with NHL players in 2014 and the World Cup with NHL players in 2016. I miss those days.
@@Ursula374 Oh c'mon, be more realistic. Tretiak is the best international goalie in history, and you had Fetisov and Konstantinov. USSR understood the value of defence and good coaching, Russia does not seem to.
first clip is an accurate representation of the entire russian defense, with the amount of skilled snipers and forwards comin out of russia you’d think they’d have at least 1 stud on the blueline, i know sergachev and provorov will be there soon but still
I don't understand.... how is it that HOCKEY is America's national sport? 2 Canadian players have the best hockey names, first is Gordie Howe- Mr. Hockey and Wayne Gretzky- The Great One..... I just don't understand this.
@@andrejshabanov7649 It was nice in Prague when Canada achieved goal differential of +55, better than any Soviet team ever! Also the next year, only 3 goals over 10 games....also better than any Soviet Team ever! It is nice that the IIHF finally re-instated 10 teams instead of 8, so just like in the 1970s-80s, Canada can pad their stats by scoring on outclassed teams! But then we also did rape Russia 6-1, so we outclass good teams too. It's very nice. At least Russia might win the Olympics this year since NHLers aren't going anymore! :)
It's overall depth. In every championship International or domestic it's almost always the deepest teams that win. Just about every player on team Canada has either two or more gold medals or a Stanley Cup. As well as numerous individual awards. To top it off half the team will be in the Hockey Hall of Fame down the road. When you have that many good players the pressure is always on so it gets really hard for the opposing team to make a difference. Not that Russia isn't deep but they aren't as deep as Canada. That pretty much goes for the rest too.
