It is funny you were nervous speaking in front of a small room of people, but you don't look shy speaking on this video, now with 95,000 views : ) Your videos have the look of a travel log show, but done in a zen manner, so much in the present time. Keep up the good work and as we say on the USA "fake it til you make it". Looking forward to you doing videos "on the road" after you get your license.

You know... I somehow see a dangerous aspect of your videoblog - since I'm sure that an enormous amount of people have and will fall in love with you! :D in a way I experience some "father concerns" about you (though I'm not that old yet :D) - being an object of so much attention from millions of people. You are already influencial and with the popularity your power to draw new directions and meet opportunities grows :)

Don't underestimate blogging Natasha. RU-vid is bigger than TV in almost every country. And you're basically an independent journalist. I know some bloggers choose to be clowns but we don't have to be that way. I've been a businessman for 10 years and let me tell you blogging is a lot more fun:)
@IzzyOnTheMove
@IzzyOnTheMove 3 года назад
Exactly. I've been publishing a zine since 1998 which is a completely independent publication. I don't make money out of it but to me i consider it almost like a "newspaper" of personal takes on things that concern me or what i see in the world. That was before RU-vid erxisted or i had a camera. It's really good to have voices that are not filtered by media organizations but are just the perspective of one informed, interested and intelligent person such as Natasha. I can be discouraging to see how a lot of viral videos are such stupid stuff, but the intelligent channels find a huge following as well and you are a proof of it ❤️

When people say “Natasha is a natural”, I think they mean that you make it look easy. It is common when we watch someone who is very skilled. In the US we had a baseball player named Ted Williams who was one of the greatest hitters at bat. Everyone said he was a natural. So finally when a reporter came to his house to interview him, he took the reporter down into the basement to show him where he had hung a baseball from a wood beam. This was where he had practiced swinging his bat a million times. Hard work sometimes pays off by building skills.

To take the stress out of public speaking - pick one person in the audience (only for a couple of seconds!) and speak as if you were talking to that person only. Then pick another one just for a couple of seconds and so on. Not only does that relax you more, it also makes your presentation much more personable. Keep up the good work! 👊😎 (fistbump)

Some years ago, I took a job teaching adult computer people how to use particular database software. I wasn't terribly comfortable speaking in front of people at that point but my employers sent me to a "train the trainer" course. The instructor there advised us to overcome discomfort about speaking by pretending that are audience was sitting there naked. That was probably useful to me once or twice as I was getting started so I thought I should share it here. I think the thing to do to prepare yourself is to know the material you are going to present. You don't need to memorize it but you should have a good idea what you want to say. That will help calm you. The other advice I would give is not to worry too much: the world isn't going to end because you don't give a brilliant presentation. If you are truthful in your presentation, you will surely give your audience useful information and earn your fee.

What I appreciate most of all is that you actually bother to do this. It seems like many Russians feel misunderstood by people in the west, in particular Americans, and they just throw up their hands and say "Why bother? I appreciate that.

@@SamsRussianAdventures Honestly? The simplicity. There didn't seem to be any political agenda involved, there wasn't any kind of clickbait title, no top ten, yadda yadda, it was just her walking around her hometown and showing things as they happened. @@SamsRussianAdventures I think I was tempted because her thumbnail picture reminded me of Natalie Moore (Solnyshko) from Saint Petersburg. She played Bass using Rocksmith on RU-vid and Twitch. I find it fascinating that these other bloggers have their own topics they like to cover on, especially the ones who won the awards. 👏 Why is that? Because they're not relying on some popular trend to jump on in order to "get famous and be successful." They have their own interests, hobbies, or whatever they specialize on and they just show what they like to do. Just something unique that they themselves can explain well, all in their own words, and sharing it mostly with people of common interest. THIS is something I truly appreciate from people who do that. I often see a bunch of copycats trying to act exactly like someone who's already proven successful just to try to get attention, and that's just not it. NOT THE WAY. I'm super glad you mentioned to them they need to find their niche and stick with it. I absolutely agree! I had told someone about a week ago exactly that (when asked how to get big on RU-vid). Honestly, who'd want to see the same ol' thing over & over? An over saturation of a hot trend can kill it off. I think people would agree to this. Besides, I like to see genuineness and uniqueness, NOT someone who follows what the media wants or dictates (a reason I don't watch TV and instead watched RU-vid since 2006). New hot trends can be created by these unique topics if presented well and interesting. Tricky but it can happen. An interesting example of that is you, Natasha! How in the world did your Spassk video not only get popular but also opened the doors for people to find you and like what you do? Who knows, but obviously you felt thankful. Now, more people are more curious about Russia. See what you did to us!? Your influence was just too contagious, Natasha. haha :P Anyway, just wanted to share my two cents (share my thoughts) since I appreciated what y'all bloggers did. Truly interesting! @samuelmartinez6344
@samuelmartinez6344 3 года назад
@@SamsRussianAdventures Well, it was back in February, she just popped up in the front page of my RU-vid. Usually what videos show up are mostly related to genres/topics I've seen lately, and I remember that time, I was not watching any videos relating to Russia/Russian stuff, not since late 2017, when FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 was still a hot topic. So I don't know how her Spassk video showed up out of nowhere, but that was my first video that I watched from her. And no lie, I was tempted to not watch it bc 1) I was watching other related topics and 2) I knew if I started watching anything Russian-related, I was going to binge-watch them nonstop. I've had an interest in Russia, it's language and culture since I was a little kid, so I had a long time interest about it. But the thumbnail used for Spassk video, I just had to watch bc I knew it wasn't photoshopped (her in a frozen lake just relaxing doing a peace sign). And I don't regret watching that video. It was deep and relatable. Why relatable? Bc I also come from a small town, lived a small town life, and whatnot. Plus, the video itself was professionally done, it ended up being a nice video to watch after work before going to sleep for another day of work. After video ended, I saw she had more Russian-related videos, and especially learn Russian alphabet, which was a huge plus for me and eventually had me interested learn Russian. I made sure the following days to check out her other videos after work. I don't regret it at all. Who knew that my interest in Russia since I was a kid was going to turn out to be an adventure of some kind after watching her video. Why do I say adventure? Well, after that video, I continued to watch her, then I started seeing suggested videos that were Russian-related, and I branched off from there. Fast-forward to next month (March), I had covid, was in quarantine, and it was the best time for me to dwell into watching all kinds of Russian stuff. Part of what happened that time was finding Zangieff again after late 2017 when he was a super small channel of way less than 100 subs, and now, he's grown and now has had few collaborations with Natasha and other RU-vidrs, which seems like they will collab again this Sunday. There had been other Russian RU-vidrs who later did collabs or had communications with each other that partially led to broader type of content and/or improved content. Pretty much, fellow Russians helping each other out. 🤝 Part of how it happened was word of mouth from viewers mentioning to a Russian RU-vidr about another Russian RU-vidr, and I volunteered to be part of that. 👍 And it's great to see how all the magic worked out. Just sit back and enjoy! 😎🍿 haha But yeah, in summary, I don't know how RU-vid's algorithm works either, but I figured I'd answer your question with this story from a point of view of a viewer in order to try to possibly give you some idea or clues on how the YT algorithm "works." I guess I can say I'm just part of a small demographic that has a huge interest in Russian stuff. Nice to see that you mentioned you blogged about Russia. Gonna have to check your content later. 🙂

Being a RU-vidr is so many young people’s long-term ambition in places like the UK and US, and here you are with a quarter of a million subscribers, doing it so casually. The algorithm brought me to your channel recently. I hope you keep growing and do do this long-term. It’s a special kind of freedom not to have to work for someone else.

@@SamsRussianAdventures Hi Sam, I watch a few Russian focussed channels (mainly Bald and NFKRZ). I think the first video of Natasha's I watched mentioned "the far East of Russia" or something similar and this is an area I knew very little about. After that first video I was impressed with her attitude and her content was the kind of down to earth, real style that I enjoy so I subscribed and carried on watching. Good luck with your channel - I'll definitely check it out.

@@SamsRussianAdventures Hi Sam, how are you? I had an interest in Vladivostok. Because when I was young my football team played a team from Vladivostok. So they travelled from the UK to the other side of the world 🌎 So when I came across Natasha’s channel the first video I saw was the one on Vladivostok. Natasha speaks perfect English and it’s very easy to follow her. When I started following her channel she had very little followers, but she grew her channel. She was also a poor student at University and I can remember those days 😂 she also spent an exchange term at a US Uni. I reside in Canada 🇨🇦 now, but Minneapolis where she studied is only one hour by plane for me. I want to travel to the Far East of Russia 🇷🇺 sometime in the future, so I enjoy watching Natasha’s adventures around the area. I also like people with a good heart and you just know Natasha is a kind person with a good heart ❤️ I will check out your channel though. Best advice would be to keep going. Just be yourself and people will respond. Since I’m off today. I’ll check out your channel very soon. All the best, Garry.
