This is why the DShK is still used by the Romanian Land Forces and they also have their own Romanian version of the DShK. It rocks.Simply the best.

@actisac
@actisac 9 лет назад
The Russian DSHK Machine Gun nicknamed "DUSHKA" was a common sight in HMG Bunkers and T-54/T-55/T-62 Tanks (As an Anti Aircraft Gun) during the cold war. It was replaced by newer NSV machine guns in Russian Service (Used now mainly in T-72's and T-80's). The Dushka however has been used by Al-Qaeda Terrorists as a Fixed Anti-Air/Anti-Infantry Fire Support weapons on Both Villages and in Mountain Ranges of Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of these are also Mounted on Battle Wagons aka Technicals or Gun Trucks especially in Somalia, Chechnya, Libya, ISIS Iraq, Iran and Syria.

nowthisis2stupid Full burn, I believe, is almost always long after the round has left the barrel. I know you can add an insanely long barrel to a .22 and it will continue to accelerate. There may be issues with powder efficiency, but at the same efficiency more powder in a cartridge in an equivalent barrel will produce more power regardless of full burn time.
@fakename1545
@fakename1545 9 лет назад
nowthisis2stupid No gun or rifle reaches full burn.I have absolutely no idea why you decided that 6% of the powder doesn't burn after the bullet left the muzzle. It's likely much more, for any cartridge in any weapon. Full burn is irrelevant. It just is. You just said that the 12.7x108 was an inferior round, but when we compare them they're similar. x99 has 1.8 percent more raw energy and 1.6 percent less power factor. x108 has a heavier bullet, with a worse design and, if we average the two, identical performance. This in no way functions as proof, especially considering the...shaky theoretical proof you've provided. For you to be correct, full burn has to be an issue and the two powders have to be equivalent or identical. For me to be correct, Russian powder needs to be inferior and full burn needs to be irrelevant. As full burn is irrelevant, well, one of is is more likely to be correct. And you're going to use a KPV in place of an HMG? Nope.
@fakename1545
@fakename1545 9 лет назад
nowthisis2stupid I need to do research? Lovely. The KPV does not function as an HMG, it functions as a small autocannon, it's a vehicle armament or a jury-rigged emplacement. I apologize for classifying it according what I learned in the Marine Corps, but that shit cannot replace a .50. Which seemed to be your misguided point. And you absolutely failed to address any point I made and sort of just flailed about and attacked my character and experience. I can assure you that my experience is sufficient. Especially considering you made fundamental errors concerning the way a fucking bullet works, and then had a spasm at the keyboard when I pointed it out. You, my friend, have lost your cool and I can't see why. My ignorance here is minimal, and until you provide facts you are fury and noise signifying nothing. Your science is bad, your analysis is bad, your math was just...random. I would love to hear you begin to address my first fucking point, as well. This one: "at the same efficiency more powder in a cartridge in an equivalent barrel will produce more power regardless of full burn time." You are fucking arguing that a larger case for the same cartridge in the same weapon won't produce more power. You are telling me that lengthening a cartridge is irrelevant. You have to understand the stupidity of that. I never even compared x99 and x108, I used two hypothetical cartridges. What a cunt you are.

I normally handled a US M2 .50 on my boss's vehicle, very sweet gun. So when he wanted his crew trained on T55 I naturally manned the DShKT. My first thought was "piece of crap!" The kit included a mallet to bang out the buffer assembly. It was certainly clunky compared to the Ma Deuce. But I grew to like it. The anti-aircraft site (holographic I believe it is called) was bone dead simple and easy to acquire. Ivan knows how to build rock solid weapons.

You are saying about DShK as a Russian machine gun, but it's a Soviet weapon, that was created by many talented military and civil engineers
@randomlyentertaining8287
@randomlyentertaining8287 2 года назад
The Soviet Union was not a single country but a union of several (Hence the name Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The DShK's designer, Vasily Degtyaryov, was born before the Soviet Union existed but even after it's formation, his hometown of Tula was in the Russian SSR. Vasily was also the weapon's original designer, with its first name of DK literally meaning "Large-caliber Degtyaryov". In 1938, the DK was upgraded by Georgy Shpagin, who was also born before the Soviet Union existed but again, even afterwards his hometown of Klyushnikovo was still within the Russian SSR. After his upgrade, the name then became DShK, standing for "Large-caliber Shpagin-Degtyaryov". So yes, the weapon is Russian and it was created by only two people.

What a beast of an mg. I prefer the m2 browning, but the DShK looks cooler. That doesn't mean much, though. This shoots a 12.7x108, the m2 shoots a .50 BMG(Browning Machine Gun), or in metric/millimeters, 12.7x99, obviously not much but noticably smaller. And I think they function almost the same.

A PAM jednostavno znači Protiv-Avionski Mitraljez.
