Every version of Holmes and Watson, be it Russian, late-1800s, modern, or anything else, they are always a chaotic two-year-old in a thirty-year-old body and the personification of a long-suffering, fond sigh and I live for that fact
Hahaha how you put "russian" in the list of film's settings Like yeah, Holmes and Watson can live in 1800s, 2000s or in RUSSSIA)) Of course in this adaptation they also live in 19th centuary in London, not in Chelyabinsk as you make it sound hahaha. In fact, these series aren't even russian, it's USSR's version of Sherlock
I love this Russian Holmes so much!! I feel like this is the only adaptation out there even now which really showcases my favorite part of Holmes' characterization: he is KIND!!! He is so deeply kind. He's a detective because he wants to help people. If he didn't want to help people, he'd lounge around and do cryptograms at the Diogenes club or something instead of solving crime. He has so much kindness and empathy for his clients and this Holmes just has it shining out of his every pore. I love that so much. Plus handsomest, coolest, yet dorkiest and most emotional Watson!!!!
Holmes and Watson duo will forever be iconic. Their story is timeless. No matter what timeline, no matter what version, these two men will always be together.
I'm so glad that people who don't speak russian are finding out about this adaptation, tysm for this! Honestly, this is my all-time favorite version. I love how full of visible admiration, respect and care the Soviet Johnlock's dynamic is, and overall this show is just so wholesome. I feel like this John is kind of a himbo and this Sherlock is less of an archetypical genius and more of a "I simply interact with the world differently than most other people", you know? And maybe it has something to do with childhood nostalgia, but I can't help but smile every time I hear the soundtrack, I love it sm.
@@ДмитрийМачулин-ч3т I do not know what kind of music it is, but in the series the music is just gorgeous ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-saVNmNaRIcY.html
Goals: 1. Live with someone who smiles like dr.watson 2. Have no personal space 3. Solve crimes No honestly everyone pls watch this adaptation, the way watson taps that guy's hat makes me WILD As well as all the hugging and hand holding Also "as i recall, you tried to kill him with a chair" LMAO
@@neverquiteeden I failed to find it with the English voiceover but I’m pretty sure it exists cause this Sherlock actor got Honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire (20 February 2006) - "For service to the theatre and performing arts". Anyway, I only found this for you: ru-vid.com/group/PL_ortCwVgtunK5yTWtZT3IfcxUIF-FxWB here are all the series
I'm watching the Russian version of The Hound of the Baskervilles for the first time today and I already love them both. :) Greetings from Switzerland.
The random fact I'm sure you guys will enjoy. This parrot 2:43, if I'm not mistaken, was voiced by the actor who`s played Sherlock here :))) He, actually, has a quite funny and sweet voice and had voiced many characters in beautiful and sweet cartoons I grew up with being a small Russian girl.
Yes, indeed, Russians are very sincere and sentimental people. They are not afraid to show feelings for someone they are close to. Even if they have to cut someone's throat, they will most likely do it with regret and will be upset to tears.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-saVNmNaRIcY.html --- To anyone who wants to watch this series with English subtitles until it is removed from RU-vid again!
I have never seen this pairing of them before but I just adore the ease of it. Sherlock asking John if he's got his gun and just opening his coat like it's nothing out of the ordinary, the synchronized drinking at the table at 4:57
Oh, my heart... I've never seen the Russian version, but it seems wonderful. I love the meta moment with the kindergartener boy crying. He is all of us. Also, where does the consequences song come from? That is so appropriate, lol.
😂😂😂omg thank you, i'm dying of laughter))) here in Russia there is not a single person who has not seen this interpretation, this is a canon, people are obsessed with Conan Doyles stories:) Vasily Livanov considered the best Sherlock by russians apart from Benedict (modern Sherlock). Vasily also have an amazing voice:)
8:08 - Chess the way the Russians play it! Bam-bam-bam-bam one move after another. I think the whole game takes about a minute. Every western movie or TV show where someone plays chess, the pattern in always the same: Move #1, move #2, move #3, then.. long, deep, thoughtful pause, as the game grinds to a halt and the players proceed to think deeply.
Does anyone know what this version is called or how to find it with subtitles? It looks delightful. Sidenote: the more I get into Soviet media, the more I realize the Cold War ROBBED "the West" of awesome content.
seriously, I love your channel so much. just finished watching this dose of pure joy and can’t wait for more. As everyone have already said no matter what version- Johnlock will always be superior
Ничего себе! Давно подписана на канал, чего угодно ожидала, но только не нашу версию Шерлока Холмса. Спасибо за видео. Wow! I've been subscribed to the channel for a long time, I expected anything, but not our version of Sherlock Holmes. Thanks for the video.
I am from Russia myself, and it is so nice to read the warm reviews of foreigners about Russian Sherlock... It's weird, but I'm proud of this adaptation.
You've made me know that the Jeremy Brett version was beautiful, you made me look for it on youtube, you made me watch the first season in three days and it's still you that made me cry in front of my dad because I was watching The Final Problem and I'm terribly grateful to you for doing it. Am I going to look for this too? Am I going to watch it even if I don't understand a word? Obviously
There is definitely a subbed version somewhere on the internet. Please do watch it, our version may be a bit slow paced after bbc's but it is just too wholesome to miss out
@@Romandy13 RIGHT I remember starting BBC Sherlock knowing how crazy everyone went for that ship and getting a little disappointed that they werent nearly as fruity as in the books
Sorry guys you're watching the best series of Sherlock Russian version. But I do not know exactly what this RU-vid channel is trying to say to you here... This Russian version of Sherlock Holmes series is the Russian version which is officially recognised as the best remake of Sherlock movie ever made (The Queen of Great Britain)
Not the best translations but makes it easier to understand for non-russians 👍 They're my cuties omfg, the queen was right to say this was the best version of Sherlock Holmes.
Je ne connaissais pas la version Russe du duo Sherlock-Watson. ils sont mignons tout plein ! merci I didn't know the Russian version of the Sherlock-Watson duo. they are so cute! thank you
I have not seen this yet and I'm pretty sure gay marriage is illegal in Russia but they have more chemistry than Twilight which isn't saying much but you get what I mean
Why? Watson was knocked out and Holmes found him lying without consciousness in the empty house. Now they heading back home and Watson's head is hurting so much.
I don't suppose there is an English translation for this series? Even out of context and in a language I don't speak these clips look like they come from the best adaptation ever. (And I would love to see the episodes that had Mrs. Hudson and Watson both hugging Holmes and the one where Watson is leaning against Holmes in the cab and he says he feels like an idiot)
There are all episodes of the series on RU-vid with English subtitles. The episode with Watson and Mrs. Husdson hugging is “King of blackmail”. Kind of second part of a second episode. The part in the cab is from either first part or second part of the first episode “Acquaintance”.
Watson and Mrs Hudson just found out, that Holmes had survived that fight with Moriarty and happy to meet him again. In the cab, Holmes hold wounded Watson, who was knocked out in the empty house and just regain his conscious.
It tends to be here on RU-vid, often with english subtitles option; though ones I remember seeing weren't the best translation, but they get the point across.
I'm from Poland and don't understand more than 30% of the dialogues, but it was definitely worth watching. As good as the "Polish" series and the Granada one.
