Five places Russia will attack next after Avdiivka fell - and how Ukraine can defend itself
Russia is on the attack.
After months of hard fighting, Moscow’s troops have taken the city of Avdiivka and are now looking to press their advantage while Ukraine is on the back foot.
Tens of thousands of troops, thousands of tanks and dozens of aircraft were needed to take the city, all of which have now been freed up to attack elsewhere.
Which leaves one, big, unanswered question: Where and when will Putin strike next? This is everything we know about the coming Russian offensive.

Russia also keeps loads of troops along the border with its "best friend" China. I'm sure those divisions of troops are just there to constantly shake hands with the Chinese, its not as if China has ambitions over Siberia or anything! Such GREAT friends. Russia also needs to keep at least half a million men in reserve to put down uprisings against their new wannabe Tsar. Ukraine does not have the same constraints. Its not about total men, its about how many you can use in the war.

Nope they were true at the point of the 2022 Ukraine autumn offensive. You have to accept that winning / losing can switch places. Russia has managed to replace all its losses in men and equipment but that doesn't mean it hasn't lost a lot more than Ukraine.
