@@varrra because the skin is there to prevent bacteria from getting into the skin around your nails.. Once you get bacteria in there it's difficult to get out and it can lead to fungus infections as well as nail loss, bulging nails, or even bone damage if the infection spreads further in. This is a very dangerous method of performing a pedicure. It is okay to push back a cuticle and remove the ends, but it is NOT okay to tear or cut open the skin exposing a clients' body to bacteria like that.

Her sidewall actually looks loosened off the nail plate. It’s techniques like this that actually cause fungus and nail plate injuries. She has no protection from water, sock lint etc. Aesthetic pedicure is right. Cause this is in no way a normal thing. If you get this done regularly somewhere please stop before it’s too late

@TatzRules Yay who said? Our nails also not supposed to be cover. Our ears are not supposed to have earrings. Our hair not supposed to be cut. I hadn't any problem with russian manicure whole my life. And I find american manicure not clear. Cuticle should be cared course it also can be a problem in the future. For example, if the skin is thin, unkempt, the cuticle that has not been removed may break.

It can most definitely cause problems. Professional or not, if your cuticles are being cut like that, bacteria, dirt, lint from socks, etc. will get into that space between your nail and skin and can cause some serious issue. Please, don’t do that and don’t advocate for it.

On the top left of the nail and on the other one a little bit on the top and on the side slightly like a scratch or scrape. Maybe the tools were to HARSH. Or there was leftover red nail color from the previous pedicure? Or as one person in the comments though maybe they are just shadows?

I’m from Moscow and I sincerely don’t understand why everyone is talking about infection. LITERALLY ALL the girls I know (mom, friends, grandmother, classmates, EVERYONE) get this manicure every month. Never in my life have I heard or seen any infections from this. The master disinfects EVERYTHING in several stages using special equipment. How can you get a beautiful, neat manicure without removing cuticles? in Russia it is considered literally terrible and poor-quality work if your cuticles were not removed.

the artist actually did a tremendous job this is the way a proper pedicure should be done when the drill went inside her it didn't actually go inside her it's the loose skin with the dead skin underneath doesn't cause any pain and the skin that was cut off causes absolutely no pain those are your cuticles and they're dry and dead skin so there's no pain when it's cut off

I had a pedicure done like this in November, I've been in and out of the hospital ever since because they gave me an Infection that almost killed me. I almost had to have my foot amputated but luckily they were able to save it. DO NOT LET PEOPLE DO THIS TO YOU!

On top but sorta off topic. I got this manicure a couple years ago and I was getting gel nails. It was my first time being at this nail salon but it had good reviews and what not. So long story short the guy who did my nails accidentally cut my cuticle so badly. There was a lot of blood and he felt so bad. He did a good job on my nails though so it worked out well.
