So I'm a part of the lucky few markets (Philly) that got Younger in kegs every year sent out to local bars. They would sit on the kegs to schedule events around the tapping but sure I could see it sitting for weeks if they were prepping for an event. Shout out Capone's and Monks for that heyday Pliny drinking!
I might. I missed it by a few hours at a different place last weekend that I happened to be near. But they had Elder and Pig on tap and I found both to be monumentally average. I'd take Hop Juju and Headhunter over them all day long
@@jordanwilliams9317 Hop JuJu was special when I had it (its been years now) but Head Hunter was always just okay. The RR recipes are 20+ years old, so take that for what its worth, haha.
I happen to be working about 2 hours away from Santa Rosa and I couldn’t find anyone to go with so went alone on the 2nd day of release got there late around 6ish got in by 9pm had my 3 pours and 2 bottles. Even tho I went alone It was the best experience I’ve had to hang out with fellow craft beer enthusiasts was awesome. But it was worth the trip. I’m tired of the hazy craze I’m to the point where I can’t even bring myself to finish a 16oz can of hazy. I went to back to where it all began for me which WestCoast IPAs and younger is by far the best WC ipa, elder is the best readily WC ipa. All in all younger deserves all the hype. I’m definitely gonna go back again for younger.
I really dig how while you enjoy them cold and I enjoy them at room temp (as I do like the sweetness of the hops and the hint of booze to go along with it) you still expressed it was as a personal taste and didn't come across like one is superior to the other. You were just like, I like them cold, if you dont, thats fine lol. You seem like a humble dude, thanks for the review brother. i can speak on that! first had younger way back in 2006 at hayward's the bistro - no fanfare whatsoever, just happened to have it on tap when our home brewing club made a trip to the bay area. needless to say, we kicked the keg by the time we left!
Got to go this year and only wanted in line for an hour in a half. Almost didn’t make it inside because they stop letting people in the brewery at 11:00. Made it in at 10:58. Excellent beer but the Santa Rosa location and the Windsor locations PTY brew there own PTY’s so they both taste a little different. The Windsor location was slightly better but both like I said we’re excellent. Still sitting on 3 bottles.
When it was announced they were bottling PtY, I knew I had to get one. They’ve never bottled it before, and they may never bottle it again. It would cost me $1,000+ and several days of my time to go get two bottles, and three pours. So when I found someone selling a PtY and a PtE for $100, I jumped on it. I was expecting to be disappointed, but it was worth it to me. I definitely got $100 worth of enjoyment out of my two bottles, and the empties are now on my Wall of Fame above my beer fridge. Cheers!

I've had a few Elders sent to me and finally got out there last year for one on draft. It was an awesome experience. I'm putting this one on my list for next year!
I miss fresh Double Bastard and Ruinten before they literally ruined it. Good score on the Younger. I haven't tried it yet but the beer gods will smile down upon me eventually.
Glad you got to try that, Joe! Went down there last Tuesday with a friend from here in Humboldt. Left at 0630, got to Windsor at 1025 and stood in line for 2.5 hours. Had 3 PTY pours, lunch and then took the brewery tour for $15 each; they give you a free taster-sized RR teku glass. Super fun day and came home with my 2 allotted bottles and just drank one solo last night. So worth it for the experience alone.

Finally had Pliny the Elder in 2019 n loved it. Cheers to Old School beer styles, mang! Drinkin a 🔥🔥🔥 impy stout from Merit in Ontario, Canada right now. No barrel, adjuncts etc Just an amazing classic brew. Cheers!
I went this year, got in line at Windsor 7am.. with my folding chair... opened at 11.. I was in the first wave... on tap, it’s a little different..I loved it.. a bit overrated.. but it’s delicious.. $10 a bottle ...they change up the recipe a little bit every year..you make friends standing in line.. a little chilly this year, but no rain..the foods good too...they make great burgers! Ended on the 20th..I live in San Jose, 2 hour drive.. Went every day for 3 Days.. brought home a 6 pack total...sent a few back east to friends..Their Consecration is pretty good too..

This video makes me want to try this beer badly lmao. I just recently got to try pliney the elder and blind pig for the very first time from my local liquor store they get tons of it from Russian River! I'm kind of done with juice bombs for a little bit west coast is where it's at! I trust your reviews the most we tend to like the same beer styles haha Cheers Joe!

I waited in line for 5 hours and was thinking "why these stupid fan boys wait 8-10 hours for a beer? This is a one-time experience for me and I won't be back again." and after I tasted it, I think I should come next year.
