Russian 'turtle tank' column launches attack on Ukraine in Krasnohorivka 

A column of Russian ‘turtle tanks’ led an attack on Ukrainian lines in the town of Krasnohorivka. At least five vehicles, all equipped with makeshift armour panels, took part in the assault. One tank that was almost completely covered in armour hit two mines and was disabled. But the other four continued their charge, with three of them making it into the town. Two armoured vehicles unloaded squads of Russian troops to continue the assault on foot while a tank opened fire on the Ukrainians with its main cannon to assist in the assault. On the way out of battle, a second tank was disabled after being hit by some kind of explosive. But the crew survived and climbed into a nearby armoured vehicle to make their escape. Once the smoke of battle had cleared, the Russians drove out to rescue one of the tanks. Though bizarre-looking, these ‘turtle tanks’ are proving effective against Ukrainian drones which Kyiv’s men have resorted to because they are very short of artillery ammunition. Krasnohorivka is at least partially under Russian control after several of these assaults. #russia #ukraine #war
