СЛУШАТЬ serves as an example to multiple Russian verbs that end in -АТЬ or -ЯТЬ, while СЛЫШАТЬ is an exception to this rule. So, it’d be much easier to learn them separately. Start with the verb слУшать, and then learn the conjugation of ВИДЕТЬ & СЛЫШАТЬ together, because as you will see, they kind of rhyme! I am also using Duolingo, an app called Russian Readers, and a few different podcasts. I also really enjoy this video series about Russian natural places, that is sort of the equivalent to National Geographic, but more poetic in its narrative, in my humble opinion.
