Not to mention the wars between NSW and Victoria! What they mean is being attacked/occupied or a civil war. Australia took willingly part in WWI and WWII, it didn't 'have' to. @@telebubba5527 Here's why I think it's the case. At least here in the US, history books make note of "British" participation in the Pacific, and lump all the colonies- even ones that were mostly self-governing like AUS, Canada, NZ, etc - under that one banner. There's a similar omission of Filipinos, they tend to get lumped in with "Americans." Re: Ukraine, Australia is a lot more important than many people may realize or expect. In 2019, the Aussies broke ground on two 155mm shell factories. They started production in September. That, and Ukraine seems to really like their Bushmasters. They keep asking for more!

Times are far easier than the past. Ethnic Russians around the world are not being deported or sent to concentration camps. Russian nationals still receive various student and work visas in most countries. Many countries accept Russian tourists too. The Soviets forced relocation of ethnic Germans, ethnic Koreans, and Crimean Tatars to Siberia/Central Asia. But no country is taking that approach with Russians. In fact, Russians can fly to and come back from Russia. The only hassle is that direct flights are cancelled with most countries.

We have another big city, Melbourne (the world's most liveable city for seven years in a row, from 2011 to 2017), which is now larger than Sydney. We have a huge amount of dangerous spiders, snakes, jellyfish and the blue ringed octopus. It is the most dangerous and beautiful place in the world to live and has freedom and stable government. Some of the answers were very interesting . Thank Danil. I really enjoy your videos.

I think everyone needs to calm down about how dangerous Oz is. Spiders, you never see them and even if you do they just sit there. Snakes, ours are venomous but not that dangerous. They have small rear fangs with external venom not the big front fangs like hypodermic needles that they have in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Blue ringed octopus - hardly dangerous at all. My kids handle them at the beach and photograph them. Apart from crocodiles we have very safe animals. Other places have much worse. But like anywhere, the most dangerous thing by far is humans and we are lucky to have a relatively free society with a functioning police force and social security mechanisms. Sure it's not perfect but relative to the rest of the world we are very very fortunate. So.....Australia is not dangerous at all compared to most places. The worst animal is a green ant ruining a picnic biting you on the arse.

Love it! So funny how often spiders are mentioned. In 50 years I haven't been bitten once. The biggest spider (huntsman) rarely bites. I've seen plenty of people pick them up and take them outside without getting bitten. Even if it does bite, it doesn't make you sick, it just hurts a bit (from what I've heard). All the other spiders can be, in almost all cases, avoided indoors by keeping your place clean. I've heard people from other countries talk about all our scary spiders too, but it seems overstated to me. Reminds me a conversation I had with a mate at work who grew up in Ghana. G'day. Spiders are great at hiding so you have to go looking in woodpiles or under refuse to find them so they don't usually bother anyone. Kangaroos like hanging out on golf courses so they're interesting obstacles and occasionally they'll hop up and down streets. Marsupials are important when it comes to our wildlife. We have more mountains than Urulu, we even have skiing. There are plenty of deserts but we have tropical jungles, temperate, Mediterranean climates, miles of empty beaches and open spaces so you can travel for days without seeing another person up North. Canberra is the capital because Sydney and Melbourne fought over it then both lost (trick questions get remembered). Melbourne is usually voted as the best city in the world to live in but other Australian cities aren't far behind. Tasmania is the place to go to escape climate change extremes such as flooding and bushfires. Australia is either the largest island or the smallest continent, take your pick. Sports are big here whether it's cricket, AFL, basketball, soccer, or rugby. Emus can take several bullets and keep going but they're not usually on the menu like kangaroos. The emu and kangaroo cannot move backwards so they're on our coat of arms for that reason. ACDC started out as a Perth pub band and the highway to hell is Canning Hwy (true). Australia has had some of the best rock bands in the world up until they started going straight to television with all those stupid insta-fame competitions. It's a great place to live with all the freedoms that far outweigh a few sharks, snakes and spiders.

@@seanlander9321 Vanndemonians were former convict on Van Diemansland who were able to make it to Victoria, where most of them just melded into the population. It's a total different story as the wars between NSW and Victoria, which by our standards were completely laughable, but did shape the border between the two states. It is the only non straight land border in Australia because of that.

Have no idea, I only seen some destroyed Australian armored vehicles... what do you call them... Bushmaster, yeah right. With a kangaroo symbol on the side. I'm like, yeeeah okay whatever. On RU-vid I'm subscribed to the channel called " Russia Guy" about Australians living in Siberia. Quite curious content.

As an Australian I always had an impression that even though Russia as a state dislikes most western countries they probably for some reason have respect for Australians because of our hardiness, adaptability, and good measure for life. When it comes to the landscape and climate of both Russia and Australia our two countries are almost polar opposites. Besides the war going on at the moment, Australian's have always had great respect for Russians as they are tough independent people.

Russians love western civilization. Throughout their literature and pop culture there are endless testaments to this. They freely use Einstein as an exemplar of genius and in the incredible film 'Stalker' a character who could just say the word "naturally" in Russian instead uses the German "naturlich". Russians have long been very refined and worldly people with a lot of anthropological interest in others.

Until 1901 Australia did not exist, it was a number of various colonies, mostly all independent but in 1901 they all voted to unite as one country, The British DO NOT and never DID rule it , the Prime Minister is not subservient to the British Government and yes the head of state is the British monarch, this is out of respect and their is no power assicated with this nominal head of state. There are no spider webs woven all over the streets, it's longevity is one of the highest in the world, 84 compared to 71 in Russia, international data from last year made it the richest country in the world.

Sorry mate, but with The Australia Act 1986 did Australia become fully independent from the UK. Before that the UK had several interferences within Australia, like dismissing the government. On a personal base I can tell you that into the 60's Australia felt very much like an English colony, with fish and chips and pie's and all. We even sang 'God Save the Queen' standing next to our desk every morning. And not to mention caning as punishment. And even today, you can still see kids in school uniform, which is only done in Anglo Saxon countries. So there's still a lot of work to be done to get the colonialism fully out of Aussie veins.

Australia is the name of the continent as well as the country, so it definitely existed. The Australian Constitution got its validity by being passed as an Act of the British Parliament. And if you read the Australian Constitution you may be surprised at the amount of power that the monarch, currently King Charles, is given. It is constitutional convention that limits royal power and makes Australia independent, but it can at times be undermined, as it was by Kerr when he sacked Whitlam. In my opinion, people's lack of understanding of out constitution is the reason we have not become a republic

Farther downunder here in Aotearoa New Zealand we have a multicultural society somewhat similar to Australia's (Oz) but here we have no snakes, no big spiders and a lot of birdlife. The Oz flag is similar to ours but theirs has six white stars and ours has four red stars representing the Southern Cross or Crux constellation and our Kiwi flag is a little older than theirs. Here in Auckland, we have many Russian immigrants and I commonly hear Russian being spoken when I catch the bus. I have a lovely Russian family who live on my floor and another Russian lady who lives two floors down from me. I live in the suburb of Albany and ten minutes walk away from my apartment there is a Russian supermarket called Gastronomy which I love to visit to hear the Russian tongue being spoken (it is always full of you noisy, vivacious Russians) and to see and try all of the Russian delicacies they import including real _poupées russes_ , painted russian dolls, and myriad Russian sweets, salamis and other _délices_ from your Motherland. 🙏🏽👍🏽💙
