Between you and me this design is an amazing base for defence. I designed it to look like a castle but that ring around the top is something else for defending from!
@@maverick1484 I keep meaning to build a massive stone castle at the stone quarry with 250k+ stone upkeep or something ridiculous. on a side note, I saw AiT last video had him doing something similar on a "smaller" scale. I'd make mine look like a medieval castle as much as possible so I'm stealing your idea in the future.

@@maverick1484 I went on a build server and tried to entirely encase the stone quarry, build a roof over it an everything. After a few hours I concluded, even with infinite resources, yes it's possible but is it fun? no. You have to build such thick walls to support the arching over of the roof and stability issues out of your arse.
@@ChullsterOG That's a big gap to roof over I would just leave it open and use turrets for protection. I am just guessing here i have never done it but i have been thinking about building a redoubt around lighthouse so you have your own recycler and the lighthouse would be really good for taking down attack heli or base defence.
I use this design (similar) on a highly modded server and the adjustments are just to add more honeycomb between you and the outside world. You can easily arrange two or more turrets to cover the same area making getting into the "core" a nightmare. Add turrets and shotgun traps to the interior and this is a major pain for raiders. You can put a turret spire in the center to give 360 turret coverage as well. The second most important part is allowing defense from a number of places inside the base with multiple respawn points and gear stashes Simply it is a recommended and expandable design.
Hey Mav, I've been fiddling around with your Redoubts; always trying to make it smaller and more affordable for a solo casual. I always end up being unsatisfied and revert back to your versions. Have you Dabbled in smaller versions of any of these before?
Such an awesome base design, I’ve been trying to find/design a viable castle build + incorporating bunkers for offlines and online raid defence options, with provisions for large furnaces and refineries for longer than I care to admit. This honestly ticks all my boxes, going to test it on a build server in preparation for wipe. Might try to build on an island or a river so I can have a moat with boat access 🤔 Awesome work king 👑
I built this base not too long ago probably like 2 or 3 months ago can I tell you what this was one of the biggest most expensive bases I've ever built and definitely one of my favorites would definitely build again if I had people helping me collect resources next time
This is a little known fact but it only takes 2 incendiary rockets on the back side of an embrasure (source rust labs) to destroy it which is way cheaper than the 4 normal rockets if its the right way around.

@@Whamkeepit Got to get as much done on this redoubt as a i can, other smaller creators have been using my redoubt design and creating terrible bases that don't even work getting hundreds of thousands of views per vid I'm trying to tap into that at the moment unfortunately i have had no luck yet lol.

They are were there is a bunker on the other side of the wall, because the lowered foundation of the bunker needs a half wall on it to bring the levels flush it means you cannot put a foundation against a half wall (only another foundation). All of those inner triangle foundations should be removed anyway to lower the upkeep including the ones i place that are lowered i only placed them to get the position for the next foundation.
Was linked as a suggestion While looking up another build video to rewatch & decided to view - a good design for aesthetics. Though one thing to start with - your Video & Description are inaccurate, as there are only three (3) bunkers in this design. In representing the battlements - besides looks (usually easy) you simulated machicolations with the use of the metal ramps & removing the floor under them. Though, I feel your towers for (per testing in FORTIFY) did not add as much in defense of. I trialed a variation that should give better online defense & off-line deterrence of raiding.
You are correct the towers add nothing the base is cheaper and easier to build without them. You may not know this as you are new to my channel but the core I have been using is my well founded and appreciated redoubt base design, If you go to my channel and check out the Redoubt playlist you will see many variations of this core design some have a sub base in the centre some a garage were as others lean heavily towards base defence. I have done a castle version of this design as it has been asked for many times and there is a movement on Rust (with Fancy orbs kingdom servers were only content creators can play) that is heading in this direction.
@@maverick1484 you are right - and I have caught up on some of since. Though on the stability issues with the towers, there might be a minor add to it without changing the look of anything. My percentages might be off (using FORTIFY to build with, not RUST) you didn't use a Triangle Frame with the access/ceiling/roof of the bunker (6:15), nor did you honeycomb/half-wall around it with the pancake layering (11:00). By just adding those three things (2 half-walls & 1 triangle frame) seems to boost the stability of the floor tiles that the tower is built on by 8-10% (leading to a 3-5% addition of the towers roofs). Minor, though it might help... As for making it more defendable & keeping with the aesthetics, I would make these suggestions; - start the tower build on top of the bunker (not pancake honeycomb) with the walls on top of the bunker (facing door area) being windowed with horizontal embrasures. - keep the solid walls on this level the same (good respawn area). - Remove Auto-Turret area & have all walls be windowed with vertical embrasures (lots of firing angles from, both outside & Interior). - Add floor & move Auto-Turret area to & options for roof access/shooting onto, otherwise is set up like tower/top of Reksmore's "Wizard Tower" - inside roof option; placing an Auto-turret on top of the Auto-Turret area as close to the center of tower center as possible & facing outward from (like an archer on watch). This might simulate a "roof camper" to those passing by & discourage door-camping. In the event of a rocket raid (especially if player is offline), if the tower isn't destroyed, they would still have to get through the "firing-zone" of (& if all towers are up, they have overlapping zones in front of the entrances).
I know, this is way to much for most even small groups will be put off. I am working on a smaller version but it just doesn't look as good shrunk down.
Raid cost isn’t exactly easy to count up because of the way the base works Unless you know the design there isn’t a way to work out the full cost of tc I would estimate if chosen perfect path maybe 40 rockets ish But it could be upwards of 100 depends on the path
Hey maverick, I saw this base on rustoria main. Which had a vending machine bunkered tc and was a pain to navigate as it had lots of auto turrets hidden behind chain fences, it also had a large funnel wall full of more auto turrets. I was wondering if you could try and create something similar.
I always put my windmills on external TCs that way you can go real high. If you go that high on your main base then all a raider has to do is take out your windmill and he can place a TC down in its place outside the reach of external TC priv. Plus they make the base design look ugly if you put them on top lol.
I put them on external TCs that way they don't spoil the look of the base, but I'm guessing the last thing you need right now is to do more buildings lol. I think they will go on the roof on frames between the auto turret cupboard's but i don't think you can get the frames to go any higher than about 2
Please enlighten me, and please don't say run around with a building plan because privilege comes from the foundations that the TC is on not the TC itself, in fact I can tell you there are exactly 5 square foundations of building priv that is emitted equally all around the base, also because I say move the TC part way through the build then it cannot be found by observing the build at the start.

@@GarridoPE That bit is a pain because the roof is just a bit to high to jump from, you can put a ladder hatch in the triangle space level with the bottom of the door or even placing a siren light to jump onto until you have ladder hatch will do.
I am using the redoubt Solo Version as my Main base design since weeks i would love to habe the medival redoubt also for solo That would be so awsome!!

Wiljum introduced me to you, so super chill vibes🙃 solo vanilla builds are rough, for a shite player like me. I subtracted one tower and made it two rings, refinery in center with comp walls tower to tower 2/3's round. The 1/3 was a bunker entrance honeycomb. Main tc is 15k stone external ones are 1k. My OCD want 12k stones 😂 regardless your awesome Maverick, thank you so much for the build and future ones to come!
