@@TheOutsiderCabin I’ve followed you since your first cabin, I think you called it the $500 cabin I could be wrong. And this cabin, from clearing land, peeling logs (the hard way and the easy way), stone the loss of your mom and then your dad. You haven’t had an easy run but you have a fine cabin to make your own memories in and they sure would be proud no doubt.
I remember watching your Dad flawlessly cut the flashing for around the dormers and commenting on how it was pure artwork. You have clearly inherited your Dad's craftmanship and attention to detail! Incredible work!

The cabin was a project that The Outsider was working on with his father (aka Snr. Outsider) until he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly before it was completed.
My, young man, I must say that you are not just good at building things, you are a true craftsman! I've watched every episode of you building this cabin and have simply been amazed at your attention to detail, your pursuit of excellence and the "can do" attitude that most people just do not have in them. I remember one day catching this video of this guy dragging these large boulders into line, and I thought, what is this guy up to? I've had the pleasure of watching you from the very beginning, turning that group of boulders into a place of beauty, and every time, I think you can't get any more creative. You do. Along the way, there's been ups and downs, and every time, you rise to the challenge. I imagine that your dad watches over you with a very large and proud smile. I look forward to more of your amazing projects.

It not only takes work to use natural branches for spokes but, most importantly it take vision. A rare trait not all people have. For you it comes naturally, as we see it in almost everything you do. Love the railings and custom spindles. The granite is a very nice extra touch. Mr Outsider is proud of the finishing work you have done, I am sure. He is smiling, knowing you paid attention to his teachings.

When you were cutting the stone steps I also thought the cuttings were beautiful & hoped you would find a use for them. What a perfect place to use them! I know the three of you will spend many wonderful days relaxing & enjoying the porch. I also agree with you that the twisted branch railing is well worth the effort. Just beautiful!
@@TheOutsiderCabin Those screws on the front of the front post are bugging me. Maybe the suggested stone caps could lay over them? Some kind of cedar veneer would work too. It is just too beautiful to leave those screws showing when you first approach.
