Rusty Rotors V Household Vinegar - Who Will Win?

Have you considered getting a small tabletop sandblast cabinet? Or better yet build one! I've sandblasted old calipers and rotors with good results in the past.

mightve been that the callipers had too mush grease on the surface for the vinigar to work on propperly , maibe next time trow the in boiling water with some purple power to degreese them before trowing them in vinigar (will need to block off the ports so no water can go inside ) the electrolisis trick using soda water mix (though vinigar might do the same thing ) might work a bit better too on uneven surfaces , the bubbling acts as cavitation and works loose mose of the dirt and the rust is atracted away from the piece towards the sacraficial metal piece as for the brakediska : i seen that lathe in youre shop and you could take a skimcut off both sides and have perfectly useable brakedisks

Just sand them with a flat disc after this treatment and put them on the car, they'll wear straight, if you sand the pads straight as well.

Totally usable. I refurbish cars for certified preown resale and I will say I've restored much worse. A quick light pass on a cutting lathe and they're good as new.

Should have scrubbed before baking soda and water?

They looked perfectly usable to me. Rotors rest stop as soon as you start using them and if the vehicle sets for a week they get rusty just like the ones you cleaned they don't not rust they all rust those are perfectly usable.
