Easier than the CI FishBeard? I know you really like the CIFB. You look so fluid & dialed in on this Rusty. All your maneuvers look effortless& super crisp! I’m loving ya on this board!!!

Have owned this board for about two years now, absolutely love it! Fast, not that skater looseness of the early twins, totally high performance. I use the NVS Kraken twin fins, great set up have had it out in bigger, powerful, Central American juice and holds great!

@@chrisathan4293 It’s designed as a higher performance board, not really a designated groveler, you certainly could get dims to grovel, but would be like putting snow tires on a Corvette IMO. For 1’ you’d want a different board. From Rusty the Heckler for something that would keep some nimble qualities or the Zeppelin, which moves nicely, but less performance driven than the Heckler. Got all three ditched my longboard because the Zeppelin covers about 90% of the waves I would use longboarding.

@@NMAMxRE wow ! Thank you for giving me all of this info. I was thinking to get this board customized, but like u said, that would probably mess it up a bit. Yeah, I was checking out the heckler, but would prefer a slightly narrower board. Thank you for that recommendation too I'm glad to hear that you got in synced with the Zeppelin :)

Nice review Noel. I thought the instagram post was for the previous Rusty Twin Review you did at the pool. This more in depth review on the Rusty Twin was very nice. Rusty is putting out some nice looking boards. I'd love to give this model a try. Nice work!

Back in the 80's that is all I would surf is a twin. The concave in the rocker didn't exist in the tail back then . For small surf in Morro Bay and Saint Anne's in Pismo, that was a preferred board for me. As I worked out of the twin I had Russell shape me a quad and it was a bullish board. I love this video, thanks!!!!!!!!!!! BTW my boards were 5'5".

I think your surfing on this would would look better using stock dimensions. I see you're going much wider width on this custom 5'5'', and it looks like it in the surfing style. I really like the style of surfing on the other Rusty Twin vids by other people, because the boards are narrower (but not too narrower), more drivey, better looking surfing,….. possibly stock dimensions, unlike yours.

Both boards are epic for sure. I prefer a pure Twin Fin… so no trailer. With that being said I like the Rusty better for that reason. The BV2 might grovel better, it’s a bit faster down the line and paddles better

Sure it's fun to surf but your turns seem to look bigger on a thruster or 2 plus 1 from what I can tell, bit much cutting turns short and squirely off the top at times but in the right waves is fun to surf like this. Still love to try this board though and would also love to see you review Mr and pottz twin designs to compare as those guys were on top of their game on them back in the day. Be really interesting to see how they stack up against the modern designs you tried. Thanks, Regards

This Rusty Twin is way more fun compared to the BB. You can push hard if you want and it holds. I also like the sleeker outline on this Rusty Twin compared to the BB… the outline offers performance surfing if you want it with more drive and rail line.

The Seaside is a bit easier to surf and it’s a bit faster. The Rusty Twin Fin offers way more performance. If I could only have one… it’s the Rusty TF

This Rusty TF offers more drive on rail, and you can push as hard as you want. Fishbeard might be a little faster down the line.

wondering how to size these? I'm 5'11" 145 lbs... typically like a little bit longer board and the stock 5'7" looks quite narrow (I like that) compared to other twins and thin but volume looks appropriate

You can custom your 5’7” at 19 wide. The stock at 18.88 will be good in 3-7’ surf but need more width in 1-2’ surf

Hi noel. I have been watching you from reunion island. Could you tell me the differences between the rusty twin fin and the fishbear ? I have à fishbeard and the opportunity to buy à twin fin (to resell the fishbeard maybe i dont think i will keep them both) . The R Twin offers more traction and drive through turns. It’s easier to put the Rusty on rail and hold it through long bottom turns and big carves. The Rusty can also shred overhead waves easier too. The FB is faster and more fun in smaller waves. I like the speed on the FB better. The Rusty likes the rails to be engaged…

Is that board really 2.16 inches thick? That is less than 3/16" thick. Like my boards back in the day.........

The Rusty Twin has less overall rocker and Twin Fins are faster than Thrusters.

The Rusty offers more drive and hold on rail due to its bottom contours compared to the FB.

The FB might carry a tad more speed down the line but the Rusty out performs the FB on rail.

Hi noel, Awesome reviews and surfing as always ! U helped me out with my holy grail 5‘10stock dims and i hope u will help me now as well i‘d like to have a twin fin and heard a lot about the lower apex rail in ur reviews about the flat earth that u should sice up 1-2 liters etc. how does this compare to the rusty twin fin or maybe fishbeard is it wise to sice up those twinies in general especially the rusty twin with its stock Dimensions beeing narrow and thin from 5‘8-5‘10 compared to the flat earths dims ? Cheers ! Im in between intermediate and advanced

You can order a Rusty Twin or Fishbeard at normal volume. I actually like the Rusty Twin and Fishbeard better than the FE. They are easier to shred as pure Twinnies
