@@sagegreeeeeeen well, she's married to Joey, one would assume happily so, so definitely inappropriate to imagine otherwise Ik you may mean well, but it's definitely inappropriate to suggest two people should date just because they get along, more so if one or both are in committed relationships
@@sagegreeeeeeen Tbf, it is always weird when people suggest two people should date because they get along. Also it's definitely different, Zendaya and Tom were single, and ended up dating, Lauren is married, and Jon and Lauren are just friends regardless, just like with every other couple in starkid
Richie and Ruth's arcs are so tragic. After Max is gone, they begin to realize what they wanted: Richie wanted friends and Ruth wanted to be the center of attention for once. The fact that they're killed shortly after this realization by the ghost of Max is sad. Also "Just for Once" kills me and might be my favorite song.
That’s thematically why Max kills them imo, because in their respective moments they seek to break free of the constraint he played on them as just nerds, and by killing them in traditional ways of bullying (being swirlied and being wedgied) he reminds them of their place as nerds while he remains an Old-Testament-esque god of control.
It's so emotionally delivered, and it's so tragic to have him stand up for himself and against his bully only to meet his demise :( The fact that they had him say "I love being alive" right before the song was such a mean choice lol
I mean the whole musical starts with the cops finding Richie - so we know he's going to die BUT the whole "I love being alive" is just twisting the knife at that point Bc you realize that oh no he's going to die and nothing can be done Abt it
From the first time Jon appeared, we were gifted the amazing chemistry Jon and Lauren have together, even with wildly different roles, shared scenes between them are always a highlight. And I loved Ruth and Richie on their own as well. I was especially impressed seeing how much Jon has improved with his vocal lessons as Richie!
When watching this show for the first time, I was taken so off guard when Richie died even though the show opens with him dying and singing “I’m dead.” I forgot all about the beginning until he said “I love being alive”
Am I the only one who kinda think Richie and Ruth would've been a great couple?? I mean, the entire interaction in the Waylon place between Pete and Richie is proof that Richie has a minor crush on Ruth, and Ruth just wants someone to touch and love her (her actual words). It's sad that it never happened for just a second, it would've also made their deaths more painful...
