@loftydabird54 in the Forever&Always/Time Bastard timeline, after the homeless man(Ted) crashes their wedding, Emma reveals to Paul that she isnt the real Emma Perkins, that she died years ago in a trip in south america and she took over her life. Then, when the real Emma shows up alive, the fake one is reavealed to be an android, Emdroid then kills real Emma in a fight. After all that Paul says he is okay with her being an android becuz he is also a clone of the real Paul, the 23th clone to be precise.
Jon Matterson's voice is genuinely very good. He needs more songs where he's the main singer because when he gets so sing it really is majestic. Also he deserves it after having only sung for 1 and a half songs in TGWDLM.
I have the feeling that every single person in hatchetfield hates clivesdale with a fiery veangance and clivesdale just? doesn't care? Like they're like "oh, yeah, the town over the Nantucket bridge, Hatchetfield. They're kinda weird" and hatchetfield is just like "I WILL FEAST ON THE BONES OF YOUR FIRSTBORN" and clivesdale is just standing there half paying attention like "man, these guys, am I right?" idk but imagining the feud as one-sided just makes it way funnier.
Clivesdale: and this is our sister city Hatchetfield, they're a little weird but we love them for it Hatchetfield, foaming at the mouth: i'm going to fucking kill you you're the worst city I will destroy everything you love Clivesdale: they're so silly sometimes :D
I think it'd be funny if Clivesdale treated the rivalry as a fun little game. Like "We need to beat Hatchetfield at the big game! Let's go team!" Not knowing that everyone in Hatchetfield would not hesitate to kill them.
The absolute irony that if Grace had been interviewed by any of the local cops instead of Shapiro and said "It was Clivesdale" they would have 100% bought it 😂😂
Also when Peter asks if he looks like Lin Manuel Miranda and Richie says "a bit like the homeless guy, but he is scary as well" referencing that Joey played the homeless guy in TGWDLM. Sad that the scene didn't make the cut here
The fact that they added in so many other cast members that werent able to be in the main cast so they could still be included in the pro shot😭😭😭 I saw the digital ticket but the second Jae showed up I was SCREAMING
I was watching that part late last night, like 2:00 AM late, and i lost my shit because I saw Ziggs I had to cover my mouth so fast I really thought I was gonna wake my parents 😂
I’ve read a theory that the Lords in Black may have been wearing the skin of some of the fallen characters in the story so far [whose skin is being worn is a point of contention, but most people following the theory agree that 1) Blinky is wearing Ruth because Ruth was an outsider looking in for most of her life and 2) Wiggly is wearing Richie because they pronounce Stephanie’s name the exact same unique way and it feels like Wiggly’s type of sadism to lead the pack as the first to die]
@@caliharris898 The mayor and his assistant would fit too! It's especially cruel when it's Steph's father and even though she doesn't like the assistant that's brutal. The only one missing would be who Tinky is but we could theorize that he's wearing someone who will or should have died in that timeline
@@jaderose5612 Right! I kept thinking "Jeff Blim totally wrote this part for himself" but then handed it off and Will absolutely murdered it to glorious effect. The duet between him and Jon as killer and victim was mind-blowing.
@@DParkerNunya That’s great. I’m not a huge fan of musical theater. Too much trauma from theatre kids in hs. 😂 Star Kid has been my gateway to enjoying it as an adult.
Max loving the prank only to die immediately absolutely broke my heart. This poor guy actually wanted to be their friend, and as soon as he realized that about himself, he was back on track to hating them.
Maybe it's me, but Max is the only one (outside of her family) that audibly pronounces Grace's surname correctly. I find that positively adorable, especially with his pronunciations of "rendez-voos" and "skele'ins".
@@babymaxxieso her actually name is grace chasity, outside of her parents everyone calls her grace chasTITty, as in chastity because thats her whole thing. Its a play on her name but also on her character.
Idk what it is, but Will Branner embodies Jeff's stage mannerisms/confidence, facial expression, and his menacing vibes so well. I miss Jeff being onstage but damn, Will Branner is PERFECT casting.
@@SentientIrisu Idk personally, he still wrote the music for this one. My guess is that either he didn't want to be on stage for this musical or he didn't think he'd be a good fit.
See, I think Jeff wouldn’t have been quite right, because even though max is completely unhinged, he has this little shred of innocence that makes the character more interesting. Like for example, I feel like if it was Jeff delivering the “Skele’on” line, it would just come across…deranged? But with Will in more just makes you go “what a ridiculous dumbass.” If that makes sense??
It's also impressive to find someone of similar vocal ability as Jeff. (Not saying Jeff wrote the songs to personally fit his range.) The NPMD song itself i feel is a great example of this match, especially the bridge 2:07-2:45 on the soundtrack. Will wrote that Jeff is "a genius" and i certainly agree! Bravo to Will and Jeff!
The barbecue monologues is my absolute favourite, Joey is so good at that kind of comedy. I was also kinda expecting Richie trying to get out of the mascot costume to appear in this though, because that's also iconic. Maybe there are too many good moments to get them all in 1 video
I honestly find it really sad that they were actually on the way to redeeming Max before he fell to his death. Makes you think of what would've been if he had watched his step...
for me this is so much more than the roman empire. Ill be religiously rewatching this so much that i can play the whole show myself like Joey in trail to oregon or brian in solve it squad.
ykw rewatching the "two-bagger" scene im looking at jason and like. he's totally figured out that kyle's in danger after he explains it. like nervous ass "haha im just gonna go along with this and hope he doesn't fuck me up too" type laughter.
I'd argue he figured it out right after he said it and Max turned to him. You can feel the atmosphere shifting and Jason's laughter was already nervous. Even during the songs, he didn't seem to be as victimized as Kyle, IMO because he's smarter and easily recognizes when Max's mood shifts
Ngl at first i thought Max and Grace we're going to be siblings, thats why Max is protective of her. And when he did the dirty girl thing i was in pure shock bc my first thought was "i dont think siblings should talk like that"
9:38 sure does feel like 5 years... I wonder why... (if anyone's wondering, its a reference to the guy who didnt like musicals where a customer looking like a nerd interrupts the same conversation between those two people but we never see him get his hot chocolate, and that was 5 years ago)
yesss there are so many fantastic moments in this show. the repeated 'i'm not a loser' throughout the songs has to be my favourite part ever, especially richie's moment singing it
I've gotta say I almost didn't believe Jeff Blim did the music and lyrics again - I love Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals and the songs are bops. My only minor complaint with the previous show is it felt like the songs weren't written for human beings with lyrics that were funny but a bit hard to sing and understand without subtitles, and the top notes in some of the male vocals were a bit ridiculous (which sort of makes sense when you know what's going on in that show with people who sing). Nerdy Prudes is like a 5000% improvement - allowing for the fact they post-edited the sound (some slight pitch correction and likely re-sang some chorus vocals in the booth for balance) this entire score is incredible. "Literal Monster" hits every musical theater nerd erogenous zone as a thesis statement that defines that character and what the show is about. That guy is a star and of course he's totally on Broadway now. Mariah, Lauren, Joey, Jon, and Corey all have material that feels specifically written for them and stretches what they can do and what we've seen them do. Lauren's song is like "here's the weirdest theatrical number you can imagine, WATCH HOW BRILLIANT LAUREN IS!" I've never seen Angela but now I want to look up everything she's done. Bryce is amazing - at first I didn't connect she was the detective and the cheerleader and I kept going "where's this extra cast member?" and that solo break almost feels like it goes into _Pink Floyd_ territory. Kim and Curt do amazing work in supporting tracks - they kept teasing a reprise of "Show Me Your Hands" which I would have been on board for to feature them but likely would have confused anyone not familiar with the previous show. Paul and Emma's cameo was hilarious fan service and I'm so glad they get to keep trying to be together in parallel universes in this crazy town where terrible things keep happening with tragicomic results.
Seeing cast members like Jon, Kim, and Mariah branching out into other roles makes me wonder: It was weird, but fun seeing Jon as anyone other than Paul. Did the fans think the same when OGs like Lauren and Joey first played characters other than Draco and Ron?
NPMD must die was my first foray into starkid but i was immediately onsessed with Ziggs' saying "i certainly don't LOVE killing" so glad to see that featured here
I really liked TGWDLM, really DIDN’T like Black Friday, but this one brought me back in, it’s so campy. The only thing I didn’t really love in this one was Grace Chastity, but then again, she IS just a nerdy prude 😂
I liked Black Friday, even more so after the second watch, but yeah, it was kinda meh for me. NPMD, though? Fucking slaps, on the same level as TGWDLM imo!
Okay I have to be a linguistics nerd in your comments for a sec about this “skeluh-en” thing - is dropping the “t” before a final syllable that’s a vowel and a “m” or “n” a regional thing???? Bc I’m from New England and that’s like. How most people talk. Like yeah it’s funny when you put emphasis on it like that but I’m just so curious how other people say it. [cough] anyway. Carry on.
i’m from old england and we also do this! i had a funny moment where i was mimicking how he said skeleton and then realised that’s how i say it normally 😭😭
