Enjoyed hearing the story behind the shed and the cucumber update. That was a great way to keep a part of the old barn there on the property. That is so neat that your dog(s) love stuff straight from the garden too, but surprising with the cucumbers since they can be prickly. I am enjoying your weekly garden tour talks. Thank you for doing them!

Watching you as you tour your garden is almost like watching my own garden (if I had one like yours) I just enjoy this vicariously. How great that you have the land you need to grow this garden.

If it’s a mole (they love grubs), it’s good to get a handle on them, seems they multiply quickly. My husband places chewed Juicy Fruit gum in their tunnels. Their demise is by intestinal blockage. Thank you for the garden tour! I learn so much from you. ❤️

I do more of a french intensive planting in my small potage garden near our home. I’ve successfully lowered the weed pressure to manageable by mulching along with cardboard and mulch in the foot paths. But, up on the hill where I grow the bulk of food, weeds are built in and out of control. More space and wider grass paths seemed nice…but, what a fight. So, I have rolls waiting on me to cut down maintaining the paths. -I too like working with the soil. But, I’m hoping to move the cover over the planting areas through the late fall/winter, in hopes to have that soil ready to go in early spring. Do you think it can actually work out that way? I hope I’m not dreaming. 😅

I am envious of your huge garden. I have 1 small direct sew patch and the rest are garden boxes but it’s enough for my husband and I here in WA state. Do you ever have or see stink bugs? We’re having a big problem with those this year.

We don’t use any pesticides on our garden.. If needed I use a bit of diluted castile soap or Diatomaceous earth. I haven’t had to use either this season yet.
