What a blessed childhood you’re giving to your children. They’ll remember these days long into their old age. Thank you for all the work you do to bring us these videos of all your terrific knowledge!
We also remove all the plants at the end of the growing season to keep the ground pest free. We also have been tilling the garden for over 25 years. Glad to see you also follow the old ways of gardening. This is the way my grandmother tought me and allows us to can many items to get us through the year. Love the gum trick I'm going to have to try it. Happy gardening.
I am in the same plant zone and I have learned so much from watching your you tube channel. I have been gardening for many years and I look forward to digging in the dirt . Thank you so much
This is so relaxing watching you plant your garden !! And I can't wait to watch the growth and harvest of your planting!! The boys playing look like so much good fun for them!!!
I love that you plant your garden barefoot!!! My husband always chuckles at me cause I am always barefoot so I had to show him your video so he could see Im not alone
I love your videos! You are raising those kids like every child should be raised. Thank you for sharing. You are adorable. God is bless ing you and your family ❤ 🙏
a lady after my own heart!! barefoot, kneeling on the ground and hands in the dirt. I thought I was the only one to garden like this. p.s......love ALL ur vidios.
I love the way you include the kids in everything, so your heritage lives on. Your boy with their fort reminded me of my brother and me. The first fort we made was weed fort and we had so much fun in it. He usually didn't mind hanging around with me until he'd be with his friends, He was the only boy with 3 sisters, and I was the youngest. My sisters were "to old" to hand around me and they didn't bother with the brother, so he & I were pretty close. Thank you for sharing all you do; you are so blessed.
Thanks for sharing your gardening videos w tips and varieties and results! A great tip my mom showed me (she’s been gardening almost 60 years) she uses a spice jar to plant seeds big seeds a large hole shaker for beets and larger seeds smaller holes for tiny seeds. It works really great! Thanks again 😊
Enjoyed thr planting today even though I'm unable to garden any longer. I would love a visit the boys in the woods to see what there up to. Looks fun and interesting! I raised five boys and often played with them as they learned to be creative. Play is often the hardest work we ever do!❤
I noticed that you all go barefoot a lot, are you grounding? I also love that your boys play outside all day and use their imaginations instead of in the house on video games or watching trash on TV. You are a good and Christ filled Mama!
I’ve never heard of the gum trick!! I have just learned something new!!! Loved this video. Cannot wait to see everything grow! The boys are so sweet and they really entertained themselves!!!
I agree with you 100 percent, I have tilled my garden for 30 years and covered it with mulch and compost. I always have a bountiful blessing from our Lord. God Bless 🙌
Oh you are amazing you I plant a like I love your family and your cooking is just beyond words you are a great parent yes I move out stove refrigerator. And go after of canned things I empty all out and get jars spotless I love things organized you are a Gody mom loving the children Love prayers love you all I live in Tennessee
An old trick to avoid mice eating your pea seeds is to soak them in petrol for a few minutes before planting them. They might take one but they won't eat another 😊
I'm in my 70's and have went barefoot all my life. Now I live in Senior apts and they have rules that you have to wear shoes. I kick them off as soon as I get in my apartment...lol. I see you are in the garden with bare feet...you go girl! We weren't born with shoes on, right...lol. My husband used to tell me that he'd seen cows with softer feet😊. I have super calluses, but, when they get too bad, I have a foot soak that disolves them quickly...
Thank you so much for teaching me so much. I'm taking all this information to apply it this year in feeding my family, with 8 children everything you do applies to my household. God is good.
New sub here (about a week), and I love your channel. Thanks for sharing your hard work and wisdom with others. Wish I had your energy and stamina as there's no way I could plant our garden by myself.
Thank you for sharing your garden planting video with us 😊 ❤❤❤. I really appreciate 🙏 ❤️ them. Thank you for this wonderful gardening tips and tutorial video 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
A solution to the voles eating pea seeds which a neighbour suggested is soaking the seeds in petrol (gasoline) briefly before planting them; the voles are disinterested in them and when they germinate they aren't affected by the petrol, ostensibly. :)
I love the look of raised beds and gravel paths but I am still tilling and planting directly in the ground also. Have great harvests most of the time 😊 I did change from overhead sprinklers to drip lines because I have alot of berries. Love your channel ❤
Wish I could plant right in the ground, but I have a heavy gopher problem. They eat everything. I have resorted to raided bed with 1/4” wire underneath each bed.
Good morning RuthAnn! I'm so excited to watch the first gardening video of the season! Question, I have never had a successful spring garden...either I plant too early or too late, how do those seeds survive heavy downpours or below freezing temps?...I have had both instances and mine wash away or die😢 Blessings to you and yours❤
I love your videos so much, they are so relaxing!! Do you do any seed starting inside before planting season or do you put them all straight in the ground?
I went to your(link) your favorite linen fabric company online. It’s nice but they’re closed for a bit. We would like to know the name of the color and style of the exact fabric you used (making your apron) on the video where you show us how to make e your Amish style apron. I sure can’t locate the color and the fabric with the stripes on it. I did look in yarn dyed area and saw some stripes but not yours. all of those had white and a color, we want dark colors to hide the food and dirt that gets on the aprons. Please let all of us know how to order your fabric, there’s lots of us that would like to make our apron with the same fabric as yours, please reply😊God bless you and your family.
Thank you for a great video. I always wonder when I should be planting. What hardiness zone would you be in? We would be 6b. I have just recently subscribed. Looking forward to trying your sourdough bread recipe.
I am committing to adding potatoes (trial-as its my first time) and carrots this year. Otherwise we aren't really expanding or adding new. Keeping to crops I'm familiar with and trying to get to know and grow better. Potatoes and carrots scare me though! We tried carrots off an on for years but being more careful this year (the three year old helped me plant last year...we did a lot of baby carrot eating/thinning 😂 ). Love your videos they are so helpful! This is my 4th year gardening in earnest.
Hello! LoveLoveLove your RU-vid sight! ANTS 🐜 🐜 🐜 🐜 Do you have any wisdom on how to control ants.. They enjoyed my sweet cabbage. My crop this year is a loss. Never had to deal with ants eating my vegetables. 😢
