I can vouch for this. Last year we were at a campground and after I plugged in, my voltage meter was out of the green and into the red, less than 100v. I reported this to the office and they had a maintenance guy look at my box. He replaced the 30amp breaker and then noticed that my plug had a loose prong and it the rubber was melted where the prong met the rubber. He replaced my plug, at no cost(he replaced it when a cheap plastic model but I still appreciated it, I also tipped him). It made a world of difference. I ended up replacing that plug with one that looks like the one on the extension cord in the video and just last week, I was getting mondo power.

Another GREAT Product to use to make quick Repairs to the Power Cord is F-4 Tape. It is a thick electrical tape type material that comes in a roll and is stretchable. The nice thing about this product is, once you stretch the tape around the damaged area it bonds to itself and will not unravel and it's waterproof. Very good product.

I normally use a vinyl cleaner/protectant (Meguiars, Son of a Gun, etc) on my cables instead of just water. Since I'm often in the bright sun, figure the added UV protection alone is worth at least something. Avoid the high gloss slippery stuff though.

Which breaker does the external RV grounded plug use? The one near the door for plugging in normal electrical use things.

I have a 50a travel trailer and need to hook up an adapter to plug into the 30A at some camp sites. What is the best way to keep that connection safe from the elements when it rains or snows? Also I have a power protection device that also hangs by the power pedestal.

Also might want to teach a video on proper cable "over-under" winding as it will keep the cable from twisting on itself. lots examples from the Audio Video production industry, it applies to ALL types of temporary cabling.

+1. Once you learn it, you coil your garden hose, power cables and rope the same way. No twists.

Another tip is to make sure you don't have your cord coiled over itself while in use. This is especially important in warm weather. The electrical current can create heat, heat creates resistance, and this could be damaging to your RV or the shore power pedestal. Fire is a real possibility. Same applies to extension cords.

Hi, when I bough my used 89 coachmen Catalina the 30 amp. Powered cords booth had corroded and damaged ends and melted. At my sister's house she purchase me the mail plastic end from home Depot. Later bough a new 30 amp extension cord for RV
