As a mom, I am always impressed when I see Caleb engaging with little kids. He looks like he's having the best time with them even when they are so much younger than him. I'm sure those parents appreciate the little break he gives them to enjoy the grown-up talk!

Just started full timing with my new travel trailer. I've been disabled since I was a baby but I'm not letting that stop me. Your videos helped me get started. I'm actually heading down highway 1 this week from Santa Cruz. Staying at state parks in Big Sur, San Simeon and Morro Bay. Then out to Palm Springs for a few weeks, followed by San Diego. I'm just hoping this weeks coastal trip isn't too messed up by the fire burning down south. It's pretty smoky up here in the Bay Area from the Paradise Fire. I'm sure it will be clear in PS and SD by the time I get there. Anyway, safe travel and hope the smoke doesn't disrupt your plans. I'll say hello if I happen to run into you since it looks like we may be traveling in the same part of the state this month. I'm taking a lot of video and plan to upload some content to my channel down the road. :)

Word of advice on the Anderson blocks and slippage; attach a short (6-8 inches should be fine) flat strap to the narrow leading edge and tuck under the tire so that they are catching on it and holding the blocks in place as you back up. I always made my own multilevel wood levelers using 1x6 and 2x6 boards (staggered and attached to one another) but I always attached straps on the leading edge in case I was parking/leveling in wet weather. Usually works. Great video; really happy that y'all do this as a family while the kids can really enjoy it.

We watched last weeks video this weekend and when you said you were headed to Sacramento, we asked ourselves if you might just stay at West Sac RV Park. We only know this park because of the Fires that affected the Napa area last year. While our home was not directly in any danger, The air quality was so bad, we had to get out. My hubby who is na IT Director needed to make sure we had electricity and connectivity so he could manage the company’s servers. We packed up our Rockwood and booked a week at Sac West where the air was fresh and the Cellular connection was strong. Sac West was literally a breath of fresh air for us. They were awesome and even though they were nearly booked up, they worked with us and we just had to move a couple of times to accommodate people with reservations. I have a gluten allergy and we went out in search of Pushkin’s bakery while we were there also. Just down the street was an awesome co-op Market with lots of fresh organic vegis, fruits and healthy foods. Pushkin’s has a restaurant down by the Capital also that we love.

To help with grey and black tank cleaning I fill the tanks 3/4 full with warm water and add Cascade dishwasher soap into each tank. Drive and let it slosh around. I do this every few months. Cascade is safe on the plumbing. It does its magic. Both tanks clean.

I had a sensor that quit working on our gray tank last summer and it came back to life after a healthy amount of Cascade mixed well with hot water (hot water helps dissolve the Cascade) and then poured in the tank with plenty more water before a drive so I am +1 on your suggestion.

Your videos are so well done...the content, camera work, music...but what really makes them so good is personalities...you two come across so natural and really make such a great couple and have an awesome family. Trish is such a good mom. Wife and I bought our first trailer (22FB Sport Airstream) last year and did our first cross country trip last fall, Absolutely loved it. Learned a lot from your videos. ..and Mark is so good at explaining/ teaching in the technical segments. Thank you and stay healthy. (Todd O’Conner, Santa Ana CA....also a Ginger..but I really don’t like that term lol.)

I love your videos! Been watching for a while! We live full time in a Grand Design Momentum, and we were having an issue similar to yours, where it seemed the waste ball wasn't completely closing sometimes, and our bathroom would stink when there was no water in the bowl. We also tried closing it at different speeds. (snapping) In the end we purchased a replacement kit (Thetford 34117 Waste Ball Kit for Style II / Style Lite / Style Plus) and when we had the toilet apart we noticed one end of our waste ball where it clips in was stripped (being too hard on the flush foot handle would be my guess) and it didn't like to stay centered correctly. We installed the new kit, greased the seals properly, and it works great now!

The best add on for your truck is the larger aftermarket fuel tank I put a 55 gal tank in my truck and it is just great I like filling up the morning we are leaving before I hook up then I can get to our next stop with out having to fill up as often if at all, and usually save on fuel at the gas station off the highway, I had put a 47 gal in my 2002 Ford so much better than the 28 gal. You will love it and you keep your bed. Great show

Mark, I had the same issue a couple times especially when I had to put them on top of 2 x 6s for really un-level spots. I cut up one of my wife"s old yoga mats to put under them. i have a piece for under the wood too if needed. works perfect. I think the new ones come with a pad for that reason.

Make sure u stay well hydrated. I went on a 96 hr fast , and developed gout. I am still recovering. 7 weeks of absolute pain. Zinc and uric acid levels rise with extended fast. Also beware of refeed syndrome. Happy fasting. I loved it. But alas, no more

I just upgraded from a 24 foot travel trailer, to a 36 foot fifth wheel! My daydream is starting!!! You guys are my hero’s! I love your videos and you seem so “normal!” I retire in 6 years and can’t wait to hit the road!!! I have the truck, and the trailer! Now I just need the time!!! I also fast and lchf diet. We use those Anderson blocks too, and we've had that problem sliding on gravel. We bought some rubber mats that go under them to prevent that. I think we even got them from the manufacturer, but I'm sure you could improvise as well. Works like a charm!

We had difficulty with ours on asphalt also so I glued and screwed two 2 inch wide strips of rubber mats (with block tread) to each outer edge of each ramp. The screws were used because the 3M #70 Industrial Adhesive I used had just a bit of difficulty sticking to the specific material that they use. The screws were placed between the block patterns so that the heads were not exposed. Works really well on hard surfaces but I think the mat concept would be better for loose gravel.

We have a similar toilet with the same issues. One thing I recommend is have a replacement o-ring on hand for the valve of the toilet. By allowing the lever to snap shut it’s hard on that o-ring and over time you may start to see a little bit of water near the flush lever. That’s you’re clue the o-ring may need replaced.

We thought we should pass on that to keep any sink pile-ups happening on our RV we only brought 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 spoon, 1 glass, 1 plate, 1 mug, etc etc, per person. And that person has to wash their own dish after each meal or next meal...no dish. That was the allowable load per Daddy. (I get that you were dry camping! ) I fought this idea tooth and nail, Hubby wanted to start it years ago at home, and yet...it has been pretty helpful in our travel trailer to keep the constant mess to a minimum. If I could even tell you what the farm kitchen sink at home looked like daily....oh the horror! The 14 y.o. is still struggling with keeping up on his own dishes, but eventually it will sink in right??? (Sink in...it was too easy.)

When you start to smell toilet fumes notice how full your tank gets, someone gave me a clue that the vent pipe is sometimes installed too deep into the tank, when that happens as the fluids in the tank fill up it fills up just above the vent pipe in the tank and the fumes cant go out into the vent pipe, I notice this when I flush you will see a gurgle out of the toilet meaning the air is trying to escape because it cant get out of the vent pipe.

You can also put the non slip tape on the bottom of the Anderson blocks and that will alleviate slippage

Hey Marc, regarding the Anderson levelers I have learned that they always work better if you pull FORWARD onto them instead of trying to back onto them. Something about backing on to them makes them slide. Hope that helps. Awesome video and I’ll be ordering some hats!

Good tip on the toilet seal. I also wonder if a person could use a fan in the vent tube to create a negative pressure for when you flush. The natures head toilets use them to keep the smell down on compost toilets.

So bummed I couldn't make it to the Sacto meet up. But it was 2 hours away, to far to just drop in. Today I'm on the last day of a road trip to a science fiction convention in Portland with a friend. We found a nice hotel in Ashland that has an awesome brew pub practically next door. Tonight I sleep in my own bed. It was a wonderful trip.

We also like the RV Ranch in Paso Robles. The town of Paso Robles is also very cute, pretty to walk around the square and several good restaurants. We prefer Hwy 101 to 5 on that route. Thx for another good season!

Awesome video. I use the Anderson system but I put a strip of 3M 4 in. x 15 ft. Safety Walk Step and Ladder Tread Tape , from Home Depot, down the middle and on all 4 pieces. I also carry a 1 X 6 X 6 with a strip down the center of it for muddy soggy conditions. Great Job!

Hi KYD My wife thought that we had a toilet issue on our '19 Keystone Cougar but it was a vent issue. She said that when she pushed on the peddle to flush, the water would bubble upward (even if the tank was empty). There was also an odor. We installed a Syphon 360 tank vent on the roof. Problem gone. "Happy wife Happy life"

Yeah, that sounds like a vent issue. We only get the bubble when close to full. That's my "sensor" :)

Hey Mark just to inform you about the toilet. Had same problem and yes did same thing, but hmm it's not the true fix you probably cleaned your toilet right. So that is the issue it needs conditioner for the seal this is what I use Toilet Seal Lubricant and Conditioner by Thetford. The thing is that the seal gets to clean so there is to much grab by the rubber seal. Hope this helps make it last longer

Ive been to several gas station where the price of diesel fuel is cheaper where the cars get gas vs the big rig pumps because the fleet price is higher at those pumps, always check cuz it can be a big difference. Also I use Gas Buddy app and I say tons of money finding the lowest prices. Another big saver is I use a Sams club Master card which gives me 5% back on all fuel at any gas station and 3% back on restaurants. I've got over $450 in money coming to me from Sams Club for my 6 month trip with my RV.

Happy Birthday youngster, Hats look great, grabed one. Another great video. I like the more in depth stuff. Oh plummers grease (comes in a little jar) put it on the toilet seal every couple of months. Stops the water leaking and keeps seal slick. That way stop the the valve from closing without snapping the handle.

My family's rule for filling up with a 35ft, don't. Fill up before you leave camp road trip. If you must you don't look at price, look at convenience.
