Since I watched this video. I was shopping for these tiles the very next day. Had to order it, but it was worth the wait. My back splash looks amazing. it looks 3d. it is very cool. It was all and all easy to apply. Just making the cuts right and clean. it's a strong product yet looks paper thin. Make sure your blades and scissors are sharp. Love it and thanks for a great video!
Great upgrade idea Mark. Our rig is a '07 and we've been looking to do something like that as well. I've installed lots of tile at home...the peel and stick looks much, much easier. Thanks for the great video.
Thank you so much ! I can't tell you how many problems we have had that you have fixed ! I am a big fan, specially due to your black tank sensor tip (ice/dishwasher detergent) ! Now looking to put a peel and stick backsplash on our rv and here you are again ! THANK YOU so much for your time and sharing your talent !!!
Very nice upgrade, looks great, I will have to do this to our RV as I hate the paper. Always enjoy your videos & tips much appreciated, Thank You Mark.
Just wanted to say thanks for ALL the great videos, they are extremely helpful and you do such a good job on all the projects you demonstrate which gives us all confidence to do it ourselves and do it correctly
I really like this product looks easy to handle as a project I could easily do thanks for this demonstration keep up your great work helping us new RVers really enjoy your helpful tips
probably a crazy question but I just bought a camper Im gonna have to renovate. would this work in the shower as well or would the water be too much for it to adhere...
Love this idea :-) my question is do I need to remove the grout that is between the counter and the wall or do I place right above it? Thank you for sharing this product and video :-)
+Olga L. Cholewa I am not sure exactly what you are referring to and without seeing pictures I would say It would probably be best to leave any sealant between the counter and the wall alone. Start the tile product above the sealant.
+Olga L. Cholewa Also, go to time 2:27 in the video. We have a molding between the counter top and the wall. You would leave that and start the tile just above the molding.
Mark I love your videos!! since I've been watching your videos I'm more confident and motivated now in remodeling our 1987 Komfort 28 foot fifth wheel camp trailer. it has quite a bit of water damage in the front of the trailer and also in the rear end of the trailer and so my wife and I have decided to completely gut the trailer out and start from scratch and a new roof. I'm most definitely relying on your videos to help me along the way with this project. I am wanting to do a custom shower in our trailer because I'm a big guy! And camp trailer bathrooms do not accommodate nor are they comfortable for big people like me. At least in the older style camp trailers. My question Mark is if I use those mosaic backsplash tiles using thin set to hold them to do my 3 walls to make the enclosure for the shower and for the floor of the shower. Do you think it will hold up to the conditions of the roads and in the mountains and all the turning, twist, and corners? Or do you think they will crack and peel off? I would greatly appreciate your input and advice on this matter. I am thankful for all the videos that you and your wife do THANK YOU and God Bless
I'm glad you enjoy our videos, and it sounds like you have a big project on your hands. The back splash tiles in the video are only decorative tiles, and would not work for your application. What I did on our trailer restoration was purchase a shower enclosure from Lowes home improvement and modified it to fit the bathroom in the RV. But you need a shower pan too. There are RV companies that sell various size shower pans and you can usually find one to work in the RV you are restoring.
I have another question sorry if it's silly. :-) I told my husband that I like the sticker on your breaker panel that list the amps of various appliances. Did it come with your rv or did you get it somewhere? Thanking you in advance for answering my silly question :-) safe travels.
+Jello Glue I sand things based on my experience with auto body work and home repairs. I sand before painting for better adhesion. After working with these tiles I feel they would adhere just as well if you use a cleaner/de-greaser. If you do decide to sand the area I just used a kitchen type of sponge like this www.scotch-brite.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Scotch-BriteBrand/Scotch-Brite/Products/Product-Catalog/~/Scotch-Brite-Heavy-Duty-Scour-Pad?N=4337+3294631680&rt=rud
Peel and stick always looks like .... peel and stick. Ghastly. I don't know why human beings always need to have shortcuts in life. Do the real thing - real mosaic tile with real thinset mortar, and real grout! That looks fabulous. You can use 1/8" thickness glass tile which are lightweight and very lovely. If you add Polymer to the thinset mortar it does not peel off under shaking. If you add polymer to the grout, it serves as a sealant, so no need to seal the grout lines later. I did my RV bathroom floors with mosaic and it looks and feels exquisite! I guess I need to do a video for the real thing.
