Not long after our warranty expired our Dometic RV refrigerator (model 2652) it lost power. YIKES! We use our fridge year round and it requires electricity or propane to keep it cold. When neither of these resources were working we had to troubleshoot fast to get the unit back up and running. So after some research and consulting we were able to repair our unit, and thought we would share our resolution. Hope you enjoy the video and it provides some help if your having RV refrigeration problems.

Earlier this week I had this issue. I looked everywhere online to find the answer but all I could find I knew was not the answer. I called a service company that only wanted to come look at it $$. Then I finally found your video and the link to the part. PERFECT. Installed easily in less than 10 minutes (taking a picture of wiring before unplugging was a great recommendation). Worked as soon as I turned battery back on. Propane ignited first thing. Electric works as well. THANKS!

Thanks for the video. I was going to ask where you bought it and how much it cost, but then I decided to search Amazon. In case any others are curios about Cost and availability like I was, Amazon has it listed for $95.95 Dometic (3316348.900) Power Module Board.

Was the fuse ok on the old board you removed? maybe it was the 12 v dc fuse?

Yes all of the fuses were intact.

i have a question regarding the propane do you know how many gallons you use on that unit? i 'm looking everywhere and i want to know witch unit use less propane as i am using a very old unit fridge...

Apologies for the late reply, we just saw your comment. We have never calculated the amount of time or propane running the fridge solely on the propane. We have boondocked several nights without electricity and still have had plenty of propane. Our Rig has 2 20lb tanks and that’s always been plenty for our needs! I will look into testing how long we can run the refrigerator on 1 tank and updating our answer.

Thanks for the video! I have a 1988 Holiday rambler camper with a Dometic refrigerator rm 2603. It worked fine for years. It has been off since late October 2020 and was working fine both on gas and 110 power. Now I am getting ready for spring as we have not had freezing weather and always 35- 45 degrees here in Port Angeles WA. Now it will not come on at all. No green or any color light at the front of the fridge will come on like it did in the past. The 110 receptacle is hot and working fine. However when I plug the fridge in it is not working. I did ck the small round fuze at the back side bottom of the fridge and it is good. Do you have any suggestions? Is there a way to test the circuit board it or just go ahead and replace it?

If your not getting power or gas ignition, and all of your fuses at the main panel as well as fridge are intact it may be the control board like we replaced. I do not know if there is a way to test the board without replacing it. We just took the leap of faith and bought one! We are no experts and wouldn’t want to steer you in the wrong direction! Make sure to research your model for additional solutions and specific parts. Then there is always the mobile tech solution 😲 Good luck and safe travels!

Do you have a close-up pic of the wiring connections to the control board? I replaced cooling unit and I think I may have gotten the wiring configuration mixed up. Thanks.

I have the same fridge but the lights on the front are dimming on and off and the board in the back is making noises so I ordered a new board hope it fixes it

If the light are dim it could be a battery or converter problem.

Ours was working fine (only use electric) then yesterday morning the check light came on and when I cut it off then back on it started making a ticking noise. About 1 min. later the check light comes on again.

1065Olivia if you have propane and it is on gas the ticking could be the ignitor trying to light

@@WillardsWithaView Weirdest thing. I went today and could not figure anything out then noticed the plastic piece that controls the temp was laying on the shelf. Once I put that back on the metal piece it started working.

I’m searching for the answer to why the fridge won’t work. One solution was to check all GFIC’s to be sure they didn’t trip. Another is to try the reset button on the electric can over the gas burner in the exterior section. When you remove the metal wall. There’s a pair of white plugs going into the canister. If you remove one of the white plugs there is a reset button between them. Press it, plug back in, plug into electric, go inside & see if it works. If not, I’ll have to get the power module board. Please do the retiring a little slower.

My reset button keeps tripping. I will reset it and it will run for about 20 mins then shut off until I repeat the process again. Any thoughts?

back country boondockers Could be a bad igniter. That would be where I would start my research. Since we are not experts we researched our symptoms and tried the module replacement, Fortunately for us that was the solution. Hope you have luck finding a solution for yours!

The point is you should be fishing , not bringing your version of joy here.. most people don't go balls out while messing with power and propane. I guess you'll learn after a few mishaps
